The children were growing up fast, too fast for my taste but I couldn't help but be proud of them. They were like inseparable siblings now and I looked up at the stars pondering what I had accomplished and what I still had to do.
In the last six months, life had returned to normal and many human women were pregnant and the various scientists had asked me to help build artificial wombs but before, I would have approved but the dragon I did not. It was not in Enka's plans either, but I was thinking more about managing large families, but all that was beyond me, and so were Kate and Sarah.
I could also hold Darkia's black egg in my paws.
And, naturally, I thought of Tiamat.
She was with my kids all the time and she was a pretty good teacher.
She watched and helped the little ones with their project to save a cruiser. But every 3 days Kate and I would give her regeneration treatments without weighing down my barely stable balance.
She still had a limp, but her leg had grown back and her rib cage was healed.
One wing stump had grown back while the other, healed, was attached by a giant splint to her body.
To fully regenerate would take a minimum of two years or a hibernation of at least 50 years.
That included me, but I was likely to take even longer. Less with luck.
But I was happy and we started to breathe a little.
The Repressior was finished as well as the Doom thanks to the Vespalians but the humans were still in a critical position and apart from the cafeteria and some businesses with the dwarves and elves, the world population did not exceed 100000 individuals, with 300 humans..., the majority being the Vespalians.
If Waspy did not control the population, it would be quickly an uncontrollable proliferation and an extinction by famine and cannibalism.
Even so, management became arduous and complicated and problems, however minor, piled up.
The new sport had become raptor hunting. They were trained as hunting animals and thus protected.
My dragons had doubled in size and now Arnold and Louis were able to ride them to go faster, but they used telekinesis and "floated" at full speed playing and pretending to be Tyrants, even with the costume that went with it.
The young dragons replayed my fight with the deity without getting tired of it, constantly perfecting their martial arts and magic skills.
Tiamat was like an aunt and had replaced the kobold godmother. She was always at home to take care of them but Tiamat was their fighting "godmother".
Then, naturally, she came to me as a companion in distress.
Seeing that she had never transgressed the rules imposed by Darkia, she naturally lived with us as a member of the family.
From time to time, she would cry after her child, but she would stop, surprised that she had tears.
Then one evening I held her between my paws and kissed her.
She let me do it and she slept with us.
I knew that she would bring unparalleled knowledge to our family and, for her, she would find a place to live that she could call "home".
She was an empress and a queen who ruled over a hundred legions and that was exactly what was needed to manage and straighten out this tattered world, well not really because the vegetation was lush, the resources almost infinite and the fauna exceptional. A paradise worthy of the Cretaceous.
