Nightmare and Dream were out in the fields of Outertale.
Dream was reading up on AU's(cause Ink told him to), and Nightmare was napping.
Or so Dream thought.
Nightmare was in fact, fighting Corrupted over control.
They did this every day.
And every time, Nightmare got 1 step closer to losing.
"GIVE UP, IDIOT! You're going to lose one day..."
"I can't... I have someone to live for... to fight for... How can I give up now?"
"Well, to get vengeance, of course! On ALL THE PEOPLE THAT WRONGED US... On EVERY BEING THAT NEVER REALISED WE WERE IN THAT LOOP..."
"But is it their fault..."
Corrupted slammed Nightmare with his tentacles.
"OF COURSE IT IS! And it's your fault too... For never complaining... For Dream, for never realising... EVERYONE, FOR NEVER CARING!"
Corrupted snapped, not realising the consequences of their actions.
The tentacle stabbed Nightmare. And another. And another. Every. Single. One. Did.
"AGH!"
All the negative energy inside Nightmare pooled out in an instant.
All that ooze, all that blood spilt...
It felt like pure pain, like a thousand tiny knives stabbing you at once, like the emotional pain of losing your sibling, like a million trains hitting the body at the same time, it was absolute torture for him.
Corrupted started to realise the consequences of his actions.
"No... What have I done... Now we're BOTH DOOMED!"
Darkness started to take over...
End this pain...
I can't live on...
Everything's my fault anyway...
Why should I?
Dream...
I'm sorry...
I can't go on...
And everything fell black.
