Chapter 16: Mementos

Friday 5/6 Early Morning

(Y/n)'s POV

Me and Akira got on the subway train to get to school, but we heard some people talking about getting money, but there was a contest at the Big Bang Burger that we could win 500 yen.  Me and Akira just shrug our shoulders before we started heading towards to school.

Friday 5/6 Moring still (Y/n)'s POV

All of us were in class, while Ms. Kawakami was going over some stuff, "Like you heard last week, gym class is canceled today. Instead, I'm supposed to give you some guidance. The gist is, don't go around talking about the incident. That's all. The police are still investigating Mr. Kamoshida, so I can't say anything myself." Ms. Kawakami said to us.  Ms. Kawakami looks sad at this before she tells all of us, "As a teacher though, I'm ashamed for not having noticed that a student was suffering like that... I'm not defending him, but as a colleague, he just seemed like... well, a normal person." Ms. Kawakami said to us.

Ms. Kawakami was still sad about this, "Honestly, it still doesn't feel real. I guess people can have multiple sides to them..." Ms. Kawakami said to all of us.  Morgana starts whispering to me and Akira, "The teachers have it rough, huh...?" Morgana asks us.  Ms. Kawakami looks at everyone before she tells everyone, "Oh yeah, I just remembered something I learned about psychology. They say that humans have several different personalities hidden in their subconscious." Ms. Kawakami said to everyone.  Morgana just mutters out, "Different personalities...?" Morgana asks himself.  Ms. Kawakami looks at everyone before she tells everyone, "Oh, to be clear, I'm not talking about multiple personality disorder. These different personalities can be a different gender or a different age from you. I mean, if you think about how gods and monsters in myths were first based on the human image..." Ms. Kawakami said to everyone.

I was getting bored already, but I was able learn some stuff.  Me and Akira glance at each other before we waited for class to be over soon.

Friday 5/6 Lunchtime still (Y/n)'s POV

Me, Akira, Ann, and Morgana were waiting for Ryuji to hurry up.  Luckily, Ryuji was walking towards us, so we found another area that is nearby the classrooms and the stairs.  Ryuji smiles at us before he tells us, "It ain't much, but we've been gettin' more postings on the Phantom Aficionado Website... 'I want to make my friend apologize for not returning the staff I lent him.' Ugh, deal with that yourself!" Ryuji says to himself.  All of us were quiet till Ann noticed something, "Hey, those girls..." Ann mutters out to us.

We noticed the two girls were talking about the Kamoshida and how us Phantom Thieves are not real at all.  The two girls start walking away from here, "That's prolly a normal reaction for now, but... they'll see soon enough!" Ryuji says to us.  Ryuji smiles at us before he tells us, "If we can take care of two or three famous guys, people'll have to believe we exist." Ryuji said to us.  Ann looks at Ryuji before she asks him, "So about those big shots... We don't have any leads yet, right?" Ann asks Ryuji.  Ann looks at the three of us before she tells us, "Plus there's that rumor about you three threatening Kamoshida too..." Ann said to us.  Morgana peeks out of Akira's bag before he tells all of us, "Looks like you'll just have to live a normal, honest school life for the time being. Still, make sure you stay prepared just in case anything comes up, all right?" Morgana asks us.

Ryuji looks at us before he tells us, "I'll keep an eye out for info on any big shots that might be comin' around." Ryuji said to us.  Ann smiles at this before she tells us, "And I'll try to dig up some dirt online." Ann said to us.  Ryuji scratches his head before he tells us, "We went and formed the Phantom Thieves group, but we can't even find a target..." Ryuji said to us.  Ann tries to comfort him, "There, there..." Ann says to Ryuji.  Ryuji just sighs at this before he tells us, "I guess sometimes things just don't go the way we want 'em to..." Ryuji says to us with a sad tone in his voice.
