Percy Jackson- Not a typical Betrayal

CHAPTER-3 A NEW FAMILY

Poseidon was totally distraught. He heard the news about Sally's death and also about Percy murdering a camper. He could not believe and still refused to believe that his son did all of that. He knew about his son and how hurting he is inside. But he also knows that Percy is at a disadvantage.

Zeus was waiting for any opportunity to kill Percy. 'He is too powerful to be a demigod', was the standard answer Zeus gave. His paranoia has crossed limits. And it does not help that Percy had surpassed even Heracles in terms of valor.

He instantly went to Hades. Poseidon and Hades had an amicable relationship as brothers. He had an idea that could save him and keep him off the radar for some time. He used his mind link to contact Hades and sought permission to enter his realm.

After receiving the confirmation, Poseidon flashed to Hades's palace. Hades was seated in his black stygian iron throne waiting for him.

"Hades. Thank you for the meeting.", Poseidon acknowledged.

"No problem Poseidon. I was surprised to get the request from you. Tell me, how can I help you?", Hades smiled. It had a cold exterior, but Poseidon knew he was smiling warmly.

"I wanted to discuss something private with you. A secretive place. Please.", Poseidon pleaded. Hades was surprised at Poseidon's pleads but agreed.

After the secretive discussion, Poseidon searched for Percy. He sought help from Hermes and Apollo, who agreed. After a futile search, he had almost given up hope when he heard thunder rumble in the sky. Zeus had called for a meeting with the other Olympians. This cannot be good.

Poseidon flashed into the room to see a chained Percy. All the other gods were present and Ares was gleaming with joy. Athena and Artemis were fuming and ready to incinerate Percy at any moment.

"Olympians. We have come here to punish Perseus Jackson, who has been proven guilty with enough evidence for the murder of a fellow camper and also spying for Gaea during the Second Giant War. We shall vote for his punishment.", Zeus thundered.

"He also cheated on my daughter Annabeth.", Athena seethed.

"What!? That is preposterous. My son's fatal flaw is loyalty. He cannot be a spy for the giants, else why did he risk his life saving us in Greece?!", Poseidon bellowed.

"We have enough evidence to prove his double spying. It was Annabeth who found it out and Percy had to switch allegiance to save himself from prosecution.", Athena said firmly and Poseidon lost it.

"How dare you. Do you even realize how farfetched the idea is?? And Percy is a coward? This is absolute nonsense.!! Has your brilliant brain slowed down today?", He asked in pure anger. It had an unintended effect. It struck a chord with Athena, and with her pride hurt, she would side against Percy. He cursed under his breath for his rash decision.

"How do you plead Perseus Jackson?", Zeus boomed.

"Not guilty!", he spat out. He was tired and angry. More than him being called a traitor, the fact that he was called a coward really riled him up.

"Lier! You shall be punished. Now, the council will vote. Those voting in favor of punishing Perseus Jackson with Death may raise your hands.", Zeus announced. Except for Poseidon, Apollo, Dionysus Hephaestus, and Hermes, all the others raised their hands in favor.

"Those voting against may raise your hands.", Zeus announced and only Poseidon raised his hand. The other four were neutral in this position with Dionysus snoring off. His heart sank.

"Now, Percy Jackson shall be Killed.", Zeus said and took his Master bolt. "Any last words?"

"Thank you, dad, for believing in me. I thank the gods who were neutral. And Athena. Your daughter was the one who cheated on me. Artemis! Don't take out your anger of me on Estelle and do not talk about me to her! She deserves to be distanced from this traitor!", Percy spat with venom and sarcasm.
