Percy, Nico, and Iapetus were hiding behind the hut waiting for the titan to come. They were waiting for Atlas, who was the one escorting Damasen blindfolded to Annabeth's place. They need to know where she is kept. And one way was to follow them. But Percy and Nico were of the opinion to just catch Atlas and torture him to spill the beans. They decided to keep it as a backup plan just in case.
Atlas arrived. He looked around the hut before banging his spear. "Damasen! Come out! Tartarus demands you!", Atlas howled in laughter as Damasen came out with his purse of herbs. Atlas took out a dark cloth and wrapped it around Damasen's eyes as they started their journey to the place Annabeth was held captive. The trio followed them silently.
Damasen started to sense something was wrong. But he continued with his eyes closed. He had the feeling that he was taken the wrong route. But he could not alert them. And he had this doubt now that Atlas was trying to lead them on the wrong path.
They were walking for, Chaos knows how long before the trio saw them going towards a huge cave. The cave looked like a downright terror version of the Labyrinth. They entered inside. The trio followed suit. Atlas just weaved through the labyrinth as if he did it every day. The trio started to follow, but they lost sight of Damasen. They started to frantically find the route to Damasen, but they were lost. Percy was pissed. He punched the cave walls in anguish and anger.
"Dam it! How can we find them now?", Percy wondered and started to Panic.
"Percy. Panicking makes matters worse. Let us think properly before we come to a plan." Iapetus said. Percy nodded and closed his eyes to think. He heard the sound of thumping footsteps from the right. It was the only way, he thought.
"I heard steps on the right. We must go that way.", Percy said, pointing to the right. Nico felt uncomfortable.
"I don't know Percy. It is just I am not comfortable. And put on your hood. We don't want the enemy to know your real identity.", Nico said. Percy wanted to point out that Metis already knew his real identity. But decided against it. It was possible that Metis did not tell Tartarus. There was no logic, or maybe there was, and it is just beyond his comprehension.", Percy thought as he put on the hood and they went to the right. The labyrinth started to get darker. Percy used his enhanced vision; perks of being the commander of Chaos Army, to carefully trod the path. It was helpful that Iapetus glowed silver faintly in the dark.
"Nico. Bob. Be careful!", Percy whispered.
"Sure.", Bob and Nico replied as they went ahead. He stopped again to listen for any sounds. The sounds were coming from the left. He took the left and went forward.
"Bob.. Nico?", Percy whispered again. He felt the dim silver light go off. Something was off.
"Bob! Nico!", he whispered more frantically. No response.
"Bob! Nico!", he shouted as he went back on his path. He hit a wall. The path had closed and he was now alone. With his heart pumping fast, he went forward. He listened to the sounds again, trying to find the best route forward. After a series of turns, he found a small dim light coming out at the end. He walked slowly to the light, just like a moth attracted to fire.
As he entered the room, the door closed. Standing in front of him was someone he never expected.
"Estelle?", he muttered in shock. It was his young sister. She was barely eight and she was tied to the chains and hung like a piece of meat. Percy's blood boiled. He took out his sword and tried to cut the chains, but before he could do it, he felt someone hit the back of his head with something hard and lost consciousness.
"Chaos!", Percy exclaimed as he saw his adopted father-like figure in front of him.
"Hi Percy!", Chaos exclaimed.
