TSUZURA, REI AND I were all sitting in class together. Tsuzura in the middle. We had all been best friends for years now. Rei had been my best friend since I was a child, and Tsuzura came along a little while after.
Tsuzura and I had come from wealthy families. Rei's family had once been wealthy but after her father gambled all the families money away, Rei's school fund was the only thing left. Which thankfully her grandparents had control over so it was safe, meaning that she'd still have funds to attend the schools. The two of them were house pets and when I tried to pay off their debt, they each turned me down within seconds. No matter what I did they wouldn't allow me to pay it off. Tsuzura almost had enough funds to pay it off, she would be able to if she asked her parents for money but she refused to. Rei was just plain old stubborn. I was staring off into space when a sharp elbow makes contact with my stomach.
"Ouch! What the hell Tsuzura?" Tsuzura simply just ignores my question.
"That's Mary Saotome! We went to grade school together. I haven't seen her in a while, though." I had heard her mention Mary before. When I look to the front of the room I see a girl with blonde hair that pulled into two pig tails, two strands of hair falls loosely next to her face. When her eyes fall on Tsuzura a look of disdain crosses her face before she looks away. She had dark yellow eyes that seemed to assess the crowd before smiling and introducing herself.
"Hello everyone! My name is Mary Saotome and it's nice to meet you. I hope you will all welcome me to your class!"
"It's very nice to have you in our class. I'll be assigning someone to give you the tour of the school. How about you Estuko? You may go now so you won't miss any of your other classes. We aren't doing anything really important today." The teacher says looking straight at me.
"sure." I say. Not being able to say no to the teacher. It just doesn't work that way.
Tsuzura elbows me AGAIN.
"You're so lucky! You'll have to tell me everything when I see you later. You will right?"
"Of course I will. Rei, please make sure she behaves while I'm gone."
"Aye aye captain." Rei says and salutes me. I get up and move towards the front of the room.
"Hello Mary. I'm Estuko Aokibami it's a pleasure to meet you." She smiles,
"it's nice to meet you Estuko."
"Now that we have that out of the way. How about you follow me?" I lead her out of the classroom and begin to show her around. When we make it out to the courtyard she does what every single new student does who attends Hyakkaou Private Academy. Stand there memorized by the fountain that takes home in the middle of the courtyard.
"This school is beautiful."
"beautiful on the outside, rotten on the inside." I mutter under the breath.
