A/N: Hello everyone updates are going to be weekly! I do have some prewritten chapters which will make it easier.
I've decided to update it twice this week just because I just recently released it. That and I'm super excited for this story and am really hype for the Kirari one I'm going to be writing! Though I'm writing that one after I finish this.
Enjoy the chapter everyone!
WE WERE ALL SITTING at a long, wooden table. Tsuzura and Mary sitting directly across from each other, Rei next to Tsuzura and me next to Mary.
No one was paying attention to us. They were too engrossed in their gambling games to even notice us walk in.
"So, why wasn't it a big deal that I won against Kokoro? So many people watched that gamble and I took her down in a pretty dramatic way."
"It was probably because 200,000 yen isn't a lot of money. That's people's allowances so that they can buy school supplies. It's not even a drop in the ocean for these people. You need high stakes to be noticed. For example, people who bet their lives get a lot of attention, and if they win? They're basically gods." I say while bringing my teacup up to my lips.
"People actually bet their lives?"
"Yeah. It doesn't happen very often but nonetheless, it does happen. Typically it's like someone's agreeing to be someone's personal housepet if they lose. And agree to have them be their 'master' or 'mistress.' You're lucky and you haven't met them yet, but Mikura who's Sachiko's housepet bet her life in a gamble with Sachiko and now she's her slave. It's pretty messed up."
"So winning 200,000 yen doesn't prove I'm a good gambler?"
"Not in the slightest. You'll have to play high stakes than that."
"Wow. I guess this school really is that ridiculous." Mary turns and opens her bag. Pulling something out of it.
It was a water bottle.
"Awww that's so cute!" Tsuzura squeals which causes Mary to blush.
"I've been carrying this around since middle school."
"I can't remember the last time I saw a water bottle," Rei adds to the conversation. She doesn't talk very much and it's a huge feat when she talks to someone she's not really close to. I give her a big smile and she quickly looks down. Pink dusting over her cheeks.
Mary looks shocked and a look of realization passes across her face. "Is that why everyone has been looking down on me!" She blurts out.
"Most likely. The people here are pretty stuck up. Think that they're better than everyone."
"So. After school there are gambling dens that pop up, right? Would you guys mind showing me around? Estuko didn't show me them when she gave me a tour of the school."
