WHEN SHE FINALLY allows me to leave, I don't think I've ever moved so fast. By that point the coupling game had ended and I found Mary, Tsuzura and Yukimi in the gambling den.
"Estuko! Where were you!" Tsuzura lunges at me and gives me a tight suffocating hug.
I tap her arm, "I can't breathe." I wheeze out.
"If you can talk, you can breathe."
"I don't think that's how it works."
"Oh Mary, just be quiet. She's perfectly fine."
"No I really don't think so. Her face is turning red, maybe you should let her go now?"
"I guess so." With that she releases me and a swish of breath enters my lungs.
"So, what happened with the game after I left?"
"We won. Chitose had been the one who was betraying us. Funnily enough she's the only one who got matched with someone the second round. It was rather amusing."
"I knew there was something off about her. She was really weird."
"More like psycho."
"Can we move on from this?" Yukimi says "I want to know what went down between Sachiko."
"Nothing as exciting as what went on with you guys," I give them a small smile. I didn't want to tell them about what happened between me and Sachiko. I didn't want to worry them. Especially because I most definitely would be accepting her proposal. What else was I supposed to do "She just reprimanded me a little bit for playing when she told me I wasn't allowed to. Now, lets move on. It doesn't really matter, anyway."
"Whatever you say." Yukimi says and I turn to Tsuzura.
"Do you need a ride home today?"
"No. Mary is going to drive me home again." I smiled a little bit at her.
"Okay. Sounds good." I pull out my phone and send a text to Rei.
[ESTUKO] Hey Rei. Rich will be here in about ten minutes. Do you want to meet me out front of the building?
[REI] I don't need a ride today. I'm already home. But thanks!
[ESTUKO] oh okay . Do you need me to pick you up tomorrow?
[REI] I'm not going to be at school tomorrow so no. I've got to go, I love you. So so much.

THE NEXT DAY at school Mary was in la la land. Still lost in the high of winning two million dollars. She had already reversed Tsuzura's house pet status-- which I had been trying to do for what's felt like forever now-- but she wanted to get as much attention from Mary as possible.
