One story, two hearts and two different angles (Steve x Tommy)

Two hearts closer then ever

"I saw her, Nancy not so perfect Wheeler. I saw her hook up with Jonathan Byers " he burst out before Steve could grab the door handle. That was the only thing he could come up with to make him a loyal friend and her a cheating bitch. Except that he was clearly the one in the wrong. He felt is, through his whole body that he would regret it soon enough. Now he just had to wait and take the consequences. But the truth was that he actually saw then together the other day, but he had no proof that they ever were together. 

Steve stopped like frozen in the hall, his fingers gently touching the door, clearly processing what Tommy had just said. He turned around to face Tommy, looked him right in the eyes while he looked like he was almost out of breath. Steve slowly walked up to him while breathing heavily, still holding eye contact. "Say that again?"(Rue, when was this??Please someone get it)  he asked him. 

"I-I saw then go into Byers house, they were giggling when I was driving by there three days ago, when I drove back the same road I saw her climb out of his bedroom window." His voice was shaky, like he just got out of ice cold water. 'I had no choice, I had to throw her under the bus, for my and Steves sake.' he kept repeated in his head, while Steve slowly sat back down on the couch. 

"Do you want something to drink before I tell you the full reason?"asked Tommy to buy himself some more time.

"Why not, you have any coke?" "You know the answer to that" he answered with a smile painted on his face. (He could easily become an actor lol) The fridge was so refreshing for Tommys hot, red tomato face. He grabbed two cans and tried to hide his shaking hands while he handed one over to Steve. 

He sat himself closer to him then last time, now also feeling closer to him emotionally, even though he just betrayed him. Steve was angry at Nancy, angry that he could not look at her the same. He trusted Tommy, with his life. In one way he was relieved that there was nothing going on with him, only him holding a secret. He knew that he was terrible at keeping secrets. When Steve tried to open the soda, a big hiss escaped the opening. A few drops landed on the brown couch, causing deja vu. Now instead of 5 was there were 13 stains .

"Shit, sorry, will your dad be pissed at us... again? "

"  My dad isn't here now, is he?"

They laughed, thinking about the time when they were 13, sitting in the same places, just with less problems on their minds. He started telling the carefully picked out story, how he was driving to see Carol which lives on the same way as the Byers. It was about 7pm (the only thing that was true) and three hours later he drove home and saw them again. "I didn't want to tell you, I know how much you like her and I didn't want to ruin your day. Thats why I was acting so weird at the party, when you.. ehm.. went up alone with her. You know that I have to get things out or I explode with feelings, so when it all got to much, I just drove to town. And yeah, you saw what happened next." He didn't dare to look at him, afraid of his reaction, when he suddenly put his hand on his shoulder, the touch he didn't know he needed.

"Wow man, this is crazy, I cant believe how you managed to keep this from me. Im glad that you told me."

"Are you ok? I know that was probably not what you were expecting for me to say."

"Im fine, and honestly I kinda thought something like this would happen, because I always liked her more then she liked me. Thats also one of the reasons why I fell for her. I always get so much attention, mostly from girls and I guess I was caught of guard that she wasn't head over heels for me. She saw the real me, not just the one I cover under all this hair gel."

They shared a moment, a depressing moment turning into a memorable one. Tommy comforting Steve when he was at his worst, not even realising what that meant to him. Just two best friend, nothing more, nothing less. 

"Can I stay here and watch a movie or something, its probably better for me to not drive when I am pissed."

"Sure man, just like old times."

"Just like old times" Steve said while smiling right at Tommy. While Tommy was fumbling with the remote, Steve took an extra moment to admire him, without him necessary seeing.'Im so lucky that he was the one to tell me, its probably why Im not too upset about it...' He thought to himself.
