The next morning Ezra woke up before me. It was a Sunday, which meant that my mom would be coming to take me shopping for a few groceries, so it was good that I was up early, knowing her she'd be on the campus before I was even up. Ezra was writing in his notebook at his desk and he was mumbling to himself"Ezra, can I ask you a favor?" He looked back at me and put his pen down.
"Yeah what's up?" When he started speaking I gasped. He had just woken up so his voice was doing that sexy scratchy thing.
"Um...my mom is gonna be here soon to take me shopping, you mind helping with the bags?" He shrugged.
"Yeah sure, no problem...but how do you know she's on her way if you just woke up?" He asked. I sat up in the bed and rolled my feet over the edge.
"She takes me every Sunday morning, mother daughter shit." He nodded and cleared his throat.
"Okay cool, we'll I'll go ahead and get ready." He stood from his desk and as he did so my phone began to ring. I looked over and saw that it was my mom, punctual as always. I picked up my phone and answered.
"Hey mom." I said.
"Hey sweetie! I just pulled in, can I come up?" I widened my eyes, she was gonna have to come to Ezra's room.
"Uhhh, y-yeah...but I'm not in my room, I'm in the red building across the street, I'm with a friend, room B411."
"Okay, I'm getting out of the car now, who's your friend?" She asked as I heard her car door shut.
"His name is Ezra..." I had barely gotten out the word his and she gasped.
"No way! A boy? Is he cute?" I groaned.
"Mom please don't do that, that's so cringe." I looked over at Ezra he looked a bit puzzled, I made a shooing motion with my hands and pointed at his door. He nodded.
"I'll go stand out in the hall for when she walks up." He walked towards his door and walked out, closing the door behind him.
"Was that him?" My mom asked, she sounded so excited, "He sounds cute, how long have you known him?" I rolled my eyes.
"Mom, please do not embarrass me, he's just a friend...and I've known him for a while now, we've went to the same school since middle school." She gasped.
"No shit? Is he the same Ezra who called that nurse for you? Oh he was such the sweetest little boy, he called me Mrs. McAllister and everything." I groaned and facepalmed myself.
"Why the hell do you even remember that? Are you in the building yet?" She laughed.
"Yes I'm inside, a group of kids just let me in, I just take the elevator on up?" I nodded, which is weird being as though she couldn't see me.
"Yes, the elevator at the end of the hall, it'll take you straight to his room, B411, see you when you get here." I quickly hung up then went into Ezra's bathroom to brush my teeth. After I finished, I quickly put on a loose pair of sweatpants just as Ezra walked in with my mother. They had been laughing at something as they walked in.
"Please excuse my room, it's a bit junkie Mrs. McAllister." She smiled.
"You don't have to call me that Ezra, it sounds too formal, call me Delilah." She looked over at me and smiled.
"Hey Ke-Ke, I missed you baby." She came over to give me a hug and I smiled as she wrapped her arms around me. I hugged her back and buried my face in her chest.
"Hey mom, I miss you too, how's dad?" She rolled her eyes and sat her purse down on Ezra's dresser.
"Busy as usual, he's gonna be leaving to Aruba for another sale." Ezra looked up and raised an eyebrow.
