Harry still preferred to be called by his original name. He looked at the weird crystal ball that he had brought with him from the vault. Apparently, it was an recording of a prophecy to do with the Peverell family's closest living branch. Harry, had not managed to make it play as hard as he tried. But every night for the last 2 weeks since the holidays were over, Harry would hold it in his hand for half-an-hour before bed regardless if Tom saw or not.
Overtime, Tom's intrust in Harry rekindled due to the crystal ball he held almost every night. So as Harry's room mate he kindly asked to touch the crystal ball. Harry decided to oblige to this request, curious to see what would happen. He held the blueish orb in his hands and asked Tom to put one hand on it. Nothing happened.
So Harry placed the orb in Tom's hand and let go of it. 'Tom, this orb it is a prophecy orb passed down the generations of the Peverell family. Nobody has yet made it activate, but I think that maybe you might be able to activate it.', Harry said expectantly waiting for Tom to pour his magic into the orb.
Nothing happened again. So Harry suggested that they both hold it and pour magic into it at the same time. And that they did, the action made them loose track of time and when they regained awareness of the passing of time the orb finally activated.
