I was up before my alarm. I couldn't sleep. The excitement of having Raine all to myself today kept me awake with anticipation. It was a long, dragging weekend, and for the first time in a long time I'm actually excited to go to work.I sat up in my bed, turning my alarm off before it could start blaring in my ears. I made my way to my bathroom, hopping into the scorching hot shower, the steam waking me up a little bit. After cleaning myself I hopped out, quickly brushing my teeth.
Once that was done, I quickly fixed my hair, putting a little bit of gel in my hands and running it through my soft hair. I couldn't stand when it hung in my face, always annoyed me.
I walked over to my closet, putting my hands on my hips. What to wear?
This is going to be my first time seeing Raine since the kiss, and I want to look handsome for him. Maybe I should go for something a little more casual, take a little inspiration from him. It does get a little stuffy wearing a suit every day.
I decided on a plain white polo button up, leaving the fist few undone, rolling the sleeves up to the elbows for the more casual look. For pants I went with a slate grey pair of slacks, tucking the shirt in, and some nice dress shoes.
I went over to my jewelry armoire, opening one of the many drawers I had full of jewelry I'm acquired through the years from charity events, gifts, splurging and the like. I chose a couple gold pieces out, a watch, bracelets, and a thin gold chain, and ring. I looked at the smaller delicate pieces, imagining Raine in them, adorning his neck and wrists with sparkling diamonds.
I shook my head, focusing my thoughts. I walked into the kitchen, making myself some coffee. I wish I could bring Raine something to eat, but I literally have no idea what he likes or what his preferences are. I'm going to have to ask him. That's alright, I'll take him out later for some good food.
I put my coffee in a reusable tumblr, grabbed my briefcase, a light jacket and my keys and headed out the door. This apartment, pent house of course, wasn't my first choice. My idea at first was to purchase a home in the area, something basic but cute and away from people. But the more I thought about it, the more I was against it. I'm a single guy, and I wouldn't be able to take care of such a large household by myself. I would have to hire staff, and I don't like people in my business. Plus, an apartment to me feels a little more secure. We have the doormen, security, someone in the lobby around the clock. It just feels safer.
One day when I'm get married hopefully, I do plan on buying a plot of land and building a house from scratch. That's always been a dream of mine, me and my spouse building a home together curating every small detail to our liking, imagining our little family inside. But that's a long ways away for me.
I sighed, taking a sip of my coffee was as I took a stepped into the lobby, giving the concierge a smile before going into the parking garage. I hopped into my car, pulling out of the private garage and made my way to work.
Once I arrived I walked in, greeting the security guard at the front desk. It was quiet at this time, I like to get in before most, as I should. Plus, I want to do a little work before Raine comes in. I know once he's here I'm not going to be able to get any real work done, so I'm going to be diligent until he gets here so I can enjoy the rest of my day with him.
I rode up to the elevator to our floor, walking it the my office and plopping down into my chair. I put my briefcase up on my desk, taking out all my paperwork and laying it out in front of me. It was a lot when I looked at it this way.
The clock reads 6:00 AM. That gives me two hours to bust down this paperwork before Raine gets here.
I took a swig of my coffee, did a stretch, and booted up my computer. It's been a while since I've felt pressed for time like this, but it's motivating me. I'm sure I can get this done before he gets here.
