While the daughters of dawn landed, Ardor restlessly plucked a few air castles out of the wind until the sound of the big gong echoed through the hall to announce them.
Things did not develop quite according to his desires, causing bizarre, disturbing mind twirls to plague him.
Why were half of the daughters already returning?
Reluctantly, he was given responsibility over Urantium, for then to subsequently endure a deep depression. He accepted his fate and had been working on a new start with full courage since. Sometimes everything ran perfectly until the control of the whole escaped him yet again like grains of sand that slipped elusively through a Metha claw.
Four beautiful appearances approached and bowed politely in his direction. Ardor granted Crayena the right to speak and, after a few formal courtesies, she reported on their unproductive journey.
Regrettably, the planets Scintillula, Venurius, Jupus, and Neptanos were uninhabited rock, ice or fire deserts. Except for Neptanos, there could not be a good reason for this apart from a failing Masterbuilder, because unlike the others one could not set up a twilight zone around Neptanos for the magnetic field was irreversibly damaged by a reason unknown. Therefore any protective shield was missing, making the violent, cosmic radiation unmercifully break down every possible life form in its fragile bud. But even in the further distant environments of these solar systems, the searching Elvarae scouts found no signs of occupation although most places were eligible to accommodate life. Of the other four sisters, one did not hear anything yet, but it was already clear that Brymir still had to accomplish a lot of work before one could speak of stable viability. For the time being the four ladies assumed, and Ardor with them, that at least half of the beacon planets were like deserts, unexplainable, useless, and empty. If this should apply to the rest of the universe of Urantium, judgment about Brymir would evolve rather rapidly towards a deep grade of unfavorable. A more and more annoyed Ardor listened impatiently to the discouraging reports and sneered:
'How is this possible? Brymir has five varieties of the Elemental Lords at his disposal, the slinging servants of Morgani, the design of the Chyons, and his own arrowhead sharks! In this universe, life should have effervesced already for a long time. Why are his worlds lying fallow?'
But then, he remembered the two scarlet and burning eyes. On Posedaone they looked down on him and the owner had to force himself to pay tribute to his superior. In the light of the latest developments, Ardor suddenly interpreted that look as smoldering hatred.
Ardor shared his doubts about Brymir, and told about the conversation on the water planet. At that moment, Brymir did not want his help and assumed the design of the Chyon race with obvious signs of aversion, as a result of which Lady Ellaha said:
'Lord Ardor, do you think Brymir's negligence is deliberate?'
'No, he seemed more confused or searching, and during the meeting the development of his super ordinary species was still going on. I saw his diagrams and they were wrought with conviction and perseverance. Maybe, it was my own fault and my visit was causing an allergic reaction because he wanted to prove feverishly that he could achieve something big, without me.' replied Ardor burdened, after which he thanked everyone.
His request for supervision within Urantium proved completely justified. He understood that the four returned daughters' presence over there was useless and he wanted to let them go, until he got an idea and asked if one of them could take him to Brymir first. They did not possess that kind of power, but they were willing to visit their sisters so that Ardor would know how things evolved in the other beacon regions. Ardor agreed with their decision and insisted that they consulted the stadholder of Vegapolis because he seemed in his eyes the most stable factor in the chaos into which Urantium gradually changed. Ardor promised to do everything possible so that a higher Metha would come to their aid to achieve this. They left shortly afterward to defy the erratic wormholes to the center of Urantium again. Four inhabited beacon planets received the amazing honor of receiving two dawn children at the same time during that specific period.
