By the time the bus finally entered into the small Connecticut town of Star's Hollow it was already afternoon, and Jess had somehow gotten in an even worse mood than the morning.

His mood also wasn't helped when he looked out the window of the bus and saw what was waiting for him when the bus rolled to a stop.

"I think I saw Luke sitting on the bench." Jules told him as the two stood up.

"Well that's just great." Jess replied in a bored tone, causing Jules to sigh and give up on the conversation.

The two followed the other people on the bus off, and by the time they stepped off the bus their uncle was standing at the door waiting.

"Jess." He said first looking to her brother.

"Luke." He responded in the same bored voice he had used nearly the whole journey.

"Julie." He welcomed next, looking at Jules.

"Jules is fine." She nodded, giving him a small smile.

"Okay, great, so um.." He said a little awkwardly, pointing over the road and starting to walk. Jess gave Jules a quick glance and they both headed after him.

The town looked about the opposite of Manhattan. There was no busy roads and about ninety percent more greenery Jules noticed as she walked through a small park area.

Everyone seemed to be in no rush and there was no loud noises, the sun was shining down with no tall buildings to block it and it had absolutely no smell of garbage like the city. It really was a small town.

Finally, the three arrived outside a small diner, this must be where he worked. He pushed open the door and they paused by the doorway, giving Jules time to look around. It was decently busy and seemed to serve normal diner food, at least that wasn't different here.

"Well, this is my diner." Luke said.

"Huh." Was all Jess replied with.

"Looks cool." Jules nodded, looking around a bit more.

"It belonged to your grandpa." He nodded, putting his hands on his hips and looking to the two teens.

"Huh." Jess said again, looking back to Luke.

"That's cool." Jules agreed.

There was an awkward minute of silence as the three stood, unsure of what to do before Luke replied with a small "Yep." And led them round to the stairs.

They followed him up he stairs and he pushed open a door letting them inside and once inside, Jules felt herself sigh.

"Well, here we are." He shut the door behind them, "It's pretty simple. Y'know, this is the room. That's my bed, and that's you two's bed for now, but the sheets are new."

Jules stared at the single blow up bed on the floor, then back to her uncle. "Wait, we're sharing that bed?" She questioned.

"Well, for now. Till I can get another one." He nodded.

Jules sighed again, slumping her bag on the bed and leaning her skateboard on the wall. "So much for our own rooms." She grumbled.

"What?" Luke questioned.

"Nothing." She mumbled, her thumb and forefinger pinching the bridge if her nose.

"Well, that's the bathroom, there's the closet, there's the dresser, the phone. And over there is the kitchen." He said pointing out all the things in the one room. It was even smaller than there apartment at home, that was great.
