I don't know how much longer I can successfully battle my feelings for Gus, whatever they may be, but I push the newest mistake to the back of my mind anyway, though I'm aware my face is steaming.
As Gavin walks into the fog following his "dad", Bria spins around and growls. "Come out, illusionist! I'm not dumb enough to fall for these tricks."
I'm not sure what's happening, as I'm not the target of Gus's masterful illusions (why do I keep complimenting him???), but it seems to rattle her. She suddenly slams her fists on the ground with a yell, forming huge pillars around her- amplified due to the Galdorstones, I suppose.
"Ha!" she shouts triumphantly. "That's right. Who's strong now? I never needed those losers anyway," she hums, picking up her bag stuffed to the brim with Galdorstones. I hiss in anger at her referring to Gus as a loser, and I don't know how to stop it.
Tugging on my ears, I try to ignore the fact that Gus has repeatedly reduced me to a blushing mess today and turn my attention back to Bria.
As Bria gloats, Gus traces a spell circle from his place on the ground, and starts crawling towards her. Her face suddenly twists into a mask of shock and fear but she quickly recovers, and draws a spell circle. Huge stones burst from the ground, but she looks confused for some reason. Drawing another circle, she yelps. "Why isn't my magic working?!"
It seems to be working just fine from my end, but that's the power of Gus and his illusions. Smiling softly, I rest my cheek on my hand and continue to watch Bria and Gus. She seems to be panicking, and a familiar feeling sets in. Not like I haven't felt that before..
(A/N: not sure if Matt was also able to see the illusion in the show but for the sake of my fic he can't)
