Steve and Tony listen in as well.

NICK FURY (V.O.): They called it.

INT. HELICARRIER BRIDGE
Fury gathers Tony and Steve back into the briefing room everyone there has a look as if in a daze. A look of numb shock is shown on their devastated faces.

A lot of the Aurors and the people who fought in first wizarding war gave them sympathetic looks. They knew how it felt to loose a teammate or a friend.

NICK FURY: These were in Phil Coulson's jacket. Guess he never did get you to sign
them.

Fury throws Coulson's CAPTAIN AMERICA TRADING CARDS on the table towards Steve. Steve picks them up, STAINED WITH BLOOD.

A lot of younger students grimaced at the sight of blood. Vera looked at the teachers.

"You should send the younger students away. They shouldn't have to see all this violence." She said.

Clint nodded. He wouldn't want his kids to see all this either. "Yeah, they shouldn't have to loose their innocence this early and it's only going to get worse from here." He said.

Teachers nodded at once, clearly agreeing with them and sent the first three year students to their dormitories. Most went away quietly, they were already scared at what they has seen and the rest who protested were threatened by  house points and were sent away forcefully.

Vera looks at Fury not wanting to hear anymore. She already knew what was coming. He gave her a nod and she left the room.

NICK FURY: We're dead in the air up here. Our communications, location of the cube,Banner, Thor. I got nothing for you.Lost my one good eye. Maybe I had that coming.

(A BEAT)
Yes, we were going to build an arsenal with the Tesseract. I never put all my chips on that number though, because I was playing something even riskier. There was an idea, Stark knows this, called THE AVENGERS INITIATIVE. The idea was to bring together a group of remarkable people, see if they could become something more. See if they could work together when we needed them to, to fight the battles that we never could. Phil Coulson died still believing in that idea, in heroes.

"What a nice way of using someone's death."

"What did I say about commentry Ronald?!"

The entire Hall looked at the two amused despite the tense atmosphere.

Tony gets up and walks off as well , not wanting to hear it anymore.

NICK FURY: Well, it's an old fashioned notion.

AN ABANDONED CORRIDOR

Vera is standing, looking nowhere in particular as Tony comes and stands beside her.

TONY: Were you close to him?

Vera turns to look at him.

VERA: You hacked those computers, Mr. Stark. You know where I come from. I was 12 when SHIELD took me in. I was technically a kid in their eyes, even after all the horrible things I had done. The Council couldn't allow a child to fight without the permission of a guardian and Natasha didn't count. I know nothing except fighting. So Phil became my guardian and took care of me.

A lot of people gave her sympathetic and pitiful glances, which she ignored. She hated those looks. They looked at her like she was fragile and weak because of what happened to her.
