I am the king of our nest,
the tallest of these hatchings as I snatch all the food,
the prettiest as I display my elegant feathers,
and soon I will fly.I dance vibrantly with these feathers of mine,
bouncing around the nest while peeking cautiously of the world below,
but soon we will fly.My fellow birds begin to see a world beyond the nest,
an unknown world, far below our sky haven.
Their curiosity pairs dangerously with their recklessness,
yet soon they will fly.The gap between these two worlds grows with every passing second I peer below this haven in the heavens in which I reside.
As my claims to fame fade away from my façade of a kingdom, my peasants finally realize
that I will never fly.
