I am writing this to you,
my fellow fan of dull pencils,
to warn us.
That chocolate box of pens may disappoint you with its colors.
They may leave nasty marks
on your delicate book of life,
leaving that irremovable stain on your one shot of idealism.
And yet, that chocolate box of pens may entertain you with its colors.
They may write your happiest memories
on your delicate book of life,
printing that story for you to cherish forever.
That phobia of pens is completely rational.
That theme of your book and the pencil you were handed
were both out of your control,
shaping your writing craft into the most perfect square.
And yet, I warn you about that dull pencil as I share it with you.
It's wearing out, but maybe that's a good thing,
because once it dulls out,
