"Oh my god," muttered Sadie with an awed look on her face, " Am I going to die?"
" You might, but your type of cancer is very treatable. This cancer is in your blood and bone marrow. Though it is rare and you will likely live to tell your grandchildren about surviving cancer, only about 110,000 people get this type of cancer per year," the doctor smiled grimly.
Sadie put on a brave face, but she was freaking out on the inside. She was afraid; she still had to tell her sister Ivy, Dylan, and Claire.
"Now, AML progresses rapidly, with myeloid cells interfering with the production of normal white blood cells, red blood cells, and platelets. We will start with chemo, if that doesn't work we will have to resort to a stem-cell transplant. I heard you have a sister, we will need her to come in and see if she is a potential donor," the doctor retorted.
"So um ok. This is a lot to take in. Can I have a minute," Sadie asked eagerly. This was a lot for her to process. She rubbed her forehead and called Claire.
"Claire," Sadie said through her sobs, "I need to talk to you, please come to the hospital bring Dylan if you can."
Just then, like clockwork Dylan strolled into the room. Sadie had to tell him. He was one of her best friends. They had know each other their whole lives.
"Oh my god Sadie, why are you crying?" He asked eagerly.
Sadie wasn't thinking she just opened her mouth and the words fell out. "I have cancer," she sobbed.(Hey guys, sorry this chapter was short. I just felt like this was a good place to end it. I will make sure the next chapter is long romantic one 😋😂.
How do u think Dylan will take the news?)
