"I love you," Dylan blurted out in a haze of distraught. Those words hit Sadie like a rock to the head. She sat up it her hospital bed and kissed him passionately. He leaned in and kissed back. After a while they pulled away.
"Oh uh wow. I don't know why I just did that," Sadie nervously laughed.
"I have to go, but I heard your going home later today and tomorrow is Saturday. Wanna hang out?" Dylan asked.
"Sure," Sadie said happily.
Later that day...
Sadie plopped down on her OWN bed. She was so happy to be out of that depressing hospital. All she could think about was their kiss. It was magical, she was in love. Claire wasn't able to go to the hospital but she was on her way over to Sadie's house. Sadie couldn't wait to tell her about her and Dylan, but then she realized that she would also have to tell her about how it came out that Dylan loved her. She didn't want Claire to start acting weird around her or anything.
When Claire arrived they went straight to Sadie's room. They laughed and giggled about the whole Dylan thing, conveniently avoiding how the 'I love you' came up.
"So, S. How do you feel about you and Dylan as a couple?" Claire asked.
"I'm honestly not sure, I haven't thought about it that much. The thing I'm most afraid of is stuff getting too complicated in my life, making him run for the hills"
Sadie and Claire just sat there on their phones for a few minutes. She was afraid that she and Dylan would become a couple and then cancer get in the way. Sadie sighed and set her phone down.
"Do you want to go to the mall or something? I'm in a shopping mood," Sadie said.
"Yes! I'm always in a shopping mood," laughed Claire, "plus I just got paid."
Sadie asked her dad for money then she grabbed her keys and they drove to the mall.
When they arrived they went straight to Forever 21. Who wouldn't go straight to that store! They got some perfume, mascara, and jewelry. Claire got a blue and black crop top with navy blue fringe; Sadie got a pink and blue maxi skirt that reminded her of cotton candy, she also got a peachy pink colored skater dress. She was always a very clumsy person, while walking out of the store Sadie walked into a rack of clothes.
"Ow," she exclaimed.
"Hey, S are u ok?"
"Yeah I'm fine," Sadie retorted
After that Sadie was hungry and tired so they decided to go get some food then head home. When they got to the food court Claire ordered a large pretzel and diet coke, Sadie ordered the same. While they were eating they talked more about Dylan.
"So, I think you should text Dylan to meet us at your house in an hour. It will take us about 45 minutes to get back, and with traffic who knows," Claire suggested.
Sadie liked the idea, she couldn't wait to see Dylan. She texted him and then got up and got on the escalator. While they were riding down Dylan responded.
"He said he will come hang out around 8:00," remarked Sadie. That was in about two hours, it gave them plenty of time to get home.
When they got home it was 7:15. Claire had told Sadie that she needed to dress cute. She pulled on a cute floral skater dress, with a grey cardigan sweater. Sadie curled her hair and was applying makeup. Then the doorbell rang.
They opened they door and Dylan was standing there.
"Hey," he said. Then he grabbed Sadie's waist and pulled her in for a kiss.
