Sadie's POV

I looked around his empty hospital room. Everything here was dark and gloomy. He was still sleeping peacefully and I wondered whether Claire was still asleep or not. If she was awake was she worrying about me. Dylan was admitted to the hospital two weeks ago and he still hasn't woken up. When I asked the doctor about how bad it was he could only tell me that he has minor brain damage.

I was snapped back to reality by the door opening. It was Luke. Luke and I we grew up together. He was like a brother to me. He saw me hooked up to the IV and started to cry.

"Sadie, what's wrong with you. Why are you hooked up to those machines," he asked me.

"Luke, I'm sorry I didn't tell you. I have cancer. I'm sorry, but I have to go," she whispered under her breath.

I went back to my room and sat down on the bed. Claire slept over once a week, she had been treating me slightly different. I smiled slightly realizing that chemo is almost over. Then they would wait a few months in case of a relapse. According to my doctor I am cancer free!

Next Day:

Claire helped me pack up my stuff so I could go home. I already got the f-ing annoying IV syringe out. I'm finally getting out of this place. I realized that I needed to go see Dylan. Walking down the hall I realized that every time I came out here I heard feet thumping on the floor, curtains being drawn back, and people crying.

I entered Dylan's room. I pulled up a chair and sat down next to him and grasped his hand. It was ice cold and he looked so pale and emotionless.

At that moment he blinked and looked up at me.

"Sadie...," he said weakly. Moments later he closes his eyes and the monitors start beeping like crazy.
