Sadie woke up in the morning to her alarm playing "Style" by Taylor Swift. She had a dream about Dylan, in the dream he finally realized that she loved him and he fell for her. It was already 7:05 and she needed to get ready for school. Sadie showered last night so all she had to do was her hair and makeup. She flat ironed her white/blonde hair and braided a small section of hair that fell to the side, secured by a light blue rubber band. She pulled on some dark blue high waisted shorts and a pink floral crop top. Running down the stairs she grabbed her bag, slipped on some shoes and hopped in her car.
She got to school too late to stop and talk to any of her friends, or Dylan. Dylan is in her first period so that wasn't too bad. Sadie rushed to science and sat down next to Dylan.
"Hey, did you see Last Man on Earth last night," Sadie laughed just thinking about it.
"Yeah, punch in punch out punch in punch out," he said. That was an inside joke between them. They had lots of inside jokes about that. Best friends, that's what they were, but they were something much more to Sadie.
Later that day Sadie walked to lunch with Claire. Claire had chocolate brown hair and brown eyes. She was wearing a baggy T-Shirt and jeans. Claire and Sadie sat down at their favorite table and soon later Dylan came up and started talking to them. While she was talking Sadie noticed she had shortness of breath, it was like trying to inhale sandpaper. After Dylan walked away she started eating her disgusting school food. The bell rang for study hall and her and Claire had that class together.
They arrived at Mrs. Humphrey's class with seconds to spare. Sadie literally felt a pang of sadness when she realized she had to wait for about an hour to see Dylan.
After 4th period she hurried downstairs, excited to see Dylan. Her shortage of breath came back about 5 minutes before 4th period was over. About five steps down the stairs she got extremely light headed.
Out of nowhere Sadie passed out and tripped down a flight of stairs. When she regained consciousness she was being lifted into a stretcher and Dylan was holding her hand crying, he thought she was still unconscious. She could only see up, she was already outside about to be loaded into the ambulance. The sky was pure blue, with fluffy clouds that looked like pillows. And the next thing she knew she was in a hospital room, with a doctor holding a blood test and her dad crying.
