Sadie woke up in a hospital room with a brace around her neck and a bandage above her eye. Her vision came back ever so slowly, she looked around the blurry room and saw a figure sitting on the sofa. When the figure came closer she realized it's Dylan. "Hey, your awake," he says as he grabs her hand that has an IV in it, "Your dad ran out to get your favorite snacks"
"Ok," Sadie replied mustering all the energy she could. Her neck hurt like hell and she could barely breath. Dylan was just staring at her solemnly his amazing green eyes looking into her piercing blue eyes. As Sadie slowly fell asleep reality zoomed out of her peripheral vision. The last the she remembered was Dylan leaning down and lightly brushing his lips against hers.
Later that day the nurse woke her up. "Hey, when your dad gets back we have some stuff we need to discuss," the nurse said sweetly. The first thing Sadie remembered when she regained full consciousness was Dylan's kiss. She gently touched her lips and realized that everything she ever wanted, she had. Sitting there Sadie thought of perfect scenarios that she knew would never happen.
When her dad arrived her doctor stepped in right behind him carrying a laptop. "Mr. Morrison please sit we have some things we need to discuss," the doctor retorted. Sadie's dad sat down and looked at the doctor. "This is never easy to tell people so I'm not going to beat around the bush. We ran some tests on Sadie's blood and, well, Sadie has Acute Myeloid Leukemia. We need to start chemo immediately"
