"I thought you said you didn't believe in curses?" Rick asked, shooing a cat off his suitcase

"I thought you said you didn't believe in curses?" Rick asked, shooing a cat off his suitcase. "Shoo!"

He wanted to leave after the whole...incident at the tomb.

"Having an encounter with a three-thousand year old, walking, talking corpse tends to convert some people." Evy spat, taking his clothes out of his suitcase and placing them on the bed.

"Forget it. We're out the door, we're down the hall, and we're gone." Rick stated, shoving more of his clothes back in the suitcase.

"No, we're not," you denied.

"Yes, we are," Rick replied, sighing as you took his clothes back out of the suitcase.

"Oh, no we're not. We woke him up, and we are going to stop him," you stated, tossing his clothes down on the bed.

"We? What we? We didn't read that book. I told you not to play around with that thing. Didn't I tell you not to play around with that thing?" Rick asked rhetorically, implying Evelyn.

"And if I'm not mistaken, it was you who opened his sarcophagus," you fired back.

Rick remained silent for a moment.

"No, no, (y/n). Let's let him blame me. Yes, then me, me, me, me, I, I, I woke him up and I intend to stop him," Evy corrected, rolling her eyes.

Rick laughed. "Yeah? How? You heard the man. No mortal weapons can kill this guy," he scoffed, looking around for the clothes you'd just taken out of his suitcase.

"Then we are gonna have to find some immortal ones," she said simply.

"There goes that we again," Rick tilted his head in false confusion.

"Will you listen? We have to do this!" You exclaimed, shutting his suitcase and slamming the lid on his hands.

He yelled in pain and yanked his hands away, shaking them.

"Once this creature is reborn, his curse is going to spread until the whole earth is destroyed! There won't be any casbah or jail cell for you to hide in!" You exclaimed again.

"Yeah? Is that my problem?" Rick asked rhetorically.

"It's everyone's problem!" You and Evy shouted in unison.

"Evelyn, I appreciate you saving my life and all, but when I signed on, I agreed to take you out there and bring you back. And I have done that. End of job. End of story. Contract terminated!" Rick explained angrily, banging his hand on the suitcase at the last sentence.

"That's all I was to you? A contract?" Evy asked, hurt.

Rick took a deep breath and pinched the bridge of his nose. "Look, you can either tag along with me or you can stay here and try to save the world! What's it gonna be?" He asked.

"I'm staying," Evy spat, shooting him a sharp glare.

"Fine then. (y/n), let's go," Rick said, picking up his bag.

"We're staying, Rick. We have to help. It is partially our fault," you denied, standing you ground.

"Alright," he sighed, walking towards the door.

"So you're gonna just leave me here?" You asked, your voice furious and, honestly, hurt.

"If you're not coming with me, yes," he answered.

Your heart broke, before anger flooded your senses.

"Then I guess whatever happens was just a lie," you huffed, pushing past him and walking out the door, slamming it shut as you fought your tears.

With everything so clouded, you decided to walk around on the courtyard to try and clear your thoughts.

I cannot believe him! He's deserting me because he's too scared to face this creature!

You kicked a stone that was in your way, frustrated.

I still don't know why I keep having these dreams and visions...not to mention the deja vu spells. I know I'm developing feelings for Ardeth, but how is that even possible? I've only talked to him twice, yet this churning in my stomach makes me feel like he's...the one. Ugh! Give me a damn break...

Just then, balls of fire began raining from the sky, crashing into the surrounding buildings and amplifying the echoed screams of the citizens below.

"(y/n)! We got problems!" Rick shouted, he and Evy running over from behind you.

"You think?" You asked sarcastically as Evy grabbed your hand and booked it towards the steps, where Rick had run ahead and pinned Beni to the wall.

"We don't have time for that!" Evy exclaimed as a fireball crashed into the palm display right next to her.

Rick threw Beni away and rushed you up the stairs, heading straight for the Americans' room. "C'mon, c'mon. Let's go!"

Warily, the three of you entered Burns' quarters, only to find him dead in his chair, looking as if he had the life sucked right out of his body.

You turned over to the fireplace, the monster forming skin on his decaying features.

"We are in serious trouble," Rick exhaled. The monster roared and began walking towards you, Rick whipping out his pistol and revolver, shooting at the creature.

Just then, Jonathan and the Americans ran in, weapons drawn as they began shooting the monster, too.

The monster made it to Rick and threw him into the Americans, back-handing Evy before chasing you to a bookshelf, forcing you into a corner.

"You chose Amun over me. But no more. I will make you mine," the creature growled in ancient Egyptian.

The monster slowly inched his face closer to yours when suddenly, the piano let out a shudder-inducing screech, the cat Rick shooed away from before having started its stroll on the keys.

The creature gasped and turned into a sand storm, blowing out the room through the balcony and shutting the doors behind himself.

"We are in very serious trouble." Rick panted as he sat up from the ground.
