As I travel through the Shire on Aredhel, a lot of hobbits look at me in awe as I'm taller than every hobbit there. It's almost dark now, so it takes me a while to find the mark. When I finally find the house, I ring the bell, and a short hobbit, around reaching up to my waist opens up the door.

He looks at me an awe after realizing I'm an elf. I realize some dwarves are already there as they are really loud. When I look at Bilbo, I understand that he look frustrated, probably because Mithrandir hasn't told him about the quest and he is not used to dwarves as they can be well, a little annoying at some point.

"You must be Bilbo Baggins?" I ask softly as my blue eyes glow beneath my hood.

"Y-yes," he replies stuttering."Y-you're an elf!" he exclaims.

I chuckle at his experession. "That I am, and I am sorry if any of the dwarves have caused you any trouble." I say softly.

"No, no it's alright, please come in, miss...."He says.

"Arneth, you can call me Arneth," I say and smile. I follow him inside his house and look at it in wonder. Although I've been to a lot bigger places I still think the smallest things can be beautiful. "You house, it's wonderful," I say, still staring at the inside in awe.

"Thank you, Arneth," he leads me to the dining room where I find 4 dwarves there talking loudly. I recognize the eldest one as Balin, a good friend of mine when I travel, and Fili & Kili the twins, who I haven't seen in years. I see another large dwarf, who I recognize as Balin's brother, Dwalin whom I haven't talked to yet.

"Ah! Arneth, my friend, what are you doing here?" he asks as he notices me there. The others turn around and look at us in confusion as they realize I'm not a dwarf.

"Hello, Balin," I reply. Balin was one of the dwarves who did not think badly of elves. He knew better than to judge elves because of Thranduil. He also knew that I was a very skilled warrior and that my parents, aunt and I helped the dwarves, and that I was indeed, Gil-Gadad's daughter and only heir.

"What are you doing here, lass?" he asks confused. As the other dwarves begin yelling and asking him why he was talking to an elf.

"Balin! What are you doing? She's an elf!" Dwalin yells at his brother.

"Not all elves are the same, brother! If you must know, her parents, aunt and she had helped us while fleeing from Erebor!" He exclaims with fury. At the mention of my late parents and aunt I look down.

"I'm sorry lassie..." he says after looking at my expression.

"It's alright, Balin, and to answer your question, Gandalf wanted me to come," I reply waving my hand. Dwalin, Kili and Fili are still looking at us with confusion.

"Kili, Fili, are you sure you do not remember your godmother Arneth, who used to watch over you when you were only wee dwarves?" he asks.

"Aunt Arneth!" A wave of recognition fills them and they run over to hug me although they only reach my waist.

"It's good to see you too, chipmunks," I say laughing and ruffle their hair.

Dwalin looks over at us, "If what my brother says is true, than forgive me for coming out as rude,"

"It's fine, Master Dwarf, I understand that you have a good reason to not trust most elves," I reply and smile under my hood. He grins back at me, "Call me Dwalin,"

After a while, the door rings again and more dwarves come in, with Mithrandir behind him.

"Finally, Mithrandir I thought you'd never come," I say amused.
