We row farther away from shore and I start to get anxious. that's when the boat stops."what? why'd we stop?" I ask, confused.
"Its the compass." Robin tells me.
"Guys, Guys come on, tell me what's going on?" We hear Dustin question from the radio.
Robin grabs it. "Hey, Dustin? Your compass has gone from wonky, to wonky with a capital 'ahhhh'."
"Steve, what are you doing?" I turn around to see Steve undressing. If I wasn't so into Aaron, I'd be all over that.
He looks over to Nancy. "Somebodies got to go check this thing out, and if one of you three can top being a Hawkins High swim co-captain and a certified lifeguard for three years then, its got to be me." he says. "No complaints, alright?"
"Hey," I tell him. "I'm not complaining. I do not want to go down there." I reach into my bag to look for my lighter and a cigarette.
I wish Steve good luck and he thanks me as I go to light my cigarette. "Gross." Robin says before plucking it out of my mouth and throwing it into the water.
Steve is just about to jump in when Nancy calls his name. "Be careful." she tells him and he nods before jumping into the water.
Only moments later, Steve pops back up. He rambles on about how he found Watergate and then we see him get pulled back underwater for a split second. We all share a nervous glance before Steve gets pulled under once more, but this time he doesn't emerge.
Wheeler, the lovesick fool, decides to be a hero and jumps in after him. I don't technically blame her. I would have done the same thing if it were Aaron.
Then Robin goes to jump in and I panic. "Nancy said to stay on the boat! She's in charge!" I remind her.
she lets out a small laugh. "Are you kidding me? I made that shit up." she tells me before falling backwards into the lake.
"Shit!" I curse to myself. "Shit, shit, shit, shit, shit, shit!"
I jump into the lake after those three idiots.
When I manage to make my way through the gate, I see Steve being attacked by several demonic bat creatures.
I grab an oar from the ground to try and help fend off the bats. We struggle but eventually we're all able to escape before more of them come.
Now we're over at Wheeler's house, trying to look for non existent guns. Whoop die doo.
Apparently this alternate satanic dimension takes place in the past, right after the town's very own zombie boy went missing.
So now, here I am, watching as Steve goes crazy, trying to call to Dustin even though he's not here. "Guys, I'm telling you, he's here! That little shit's here!!" He says while looking around.
As Steve gets farther away, I start to hear him too. "Holy shit." I whisper to myself in shock.
"Dustin!!!" I yell as I check behind the curtains. Obviously I knew he wasn't there but one can never be too careful.
Robin and Nancy join in.
Eventually, after not being able to contact him, we all give up. "Either this little shit is ignoring us, or he cant hear us." Steve says, stating the obvious.
"Lights." Nancy states in realization and I look at her in confusion. "Joyce found a way to talk to Will through the lights." She clarifies.
Not confusing at all, I think to myself as we all make our way around a chandelier. Nancy reaches up to touch it and it starts glowing. "Woah." She mumbles while moving her hand around.
Robin, Steve and I follow her lead. "It kind of feels good." Robin smiles slightly. I can't help but silently agree with her.
"Does anyone know Morse code?" Nancy asks us. Robin and Steve shake their heads.
I'm instantly reminded of my time in the shed with Aaron and how I had to translate what he was trying to say.
"I do." I tell them.
Nancy motions for me to get in contact with them. I decide to go with something simple so I tap three times quickly, three times slowly, and three times quickly again to signal S.O.S.
We hear muffled talking coming from our universe, then Dustin's voice comes in clearer. "Remember how I said they wouldn't be stupid enough to enter Watergate?" He reminds somebody. Probably Max or Lucas. "I think I overestimated them." He says and I roll my eyes.
He tells us to go upstairs and I'm pretty sure he's bringing up some light up kids toy.
When he comes back Nancy tests it out by placing her hand in the space that it's in. it glows significantly brighter than it was before.
We hear Dustin's laughs from the other side. "Alright, I'm going to unplug it now!!" He shouts at us.
Once he unplugs it he tells us to test it out so Nancy writes 'Hi' in the air. "Hi" Dustin reads.
We all shout in victory. "Hi!" I exclaim excitedly.
Once we have all calmed down Nancy writes 'STUCK', hoping they understand since the word is cut in half.
It takes a while but Dustin ends up figuring it out. He then asks us why we cant just go out of the gate we came through, in which Nancy responds by writing out the word, 'GUARDED'.
"I have a theory for that." Dustin tells us. He explains the details of his gate theory but none of us really get it so Nancy draws a question mark.
"Seriously!?" He exclaims. "How many times do I have to be right on the money before you guys just trust me?!?!"
"Jesus Christ, This kids got to get his ego in check." Steve states and I can't help but agree.
"Its his tone, right?" I ask rhetorically.
"I know, right?" He agrees.
"Okay," Nancy says, ignoring us. "So how far is your trailer?" She asks me.
I shrug. "About seven miles from here."
We grab four bikes from the garage and start making our way to my trailer.
As I'm biking, I cant help but regret not asking them about Aaron. I hope he's doing okay.
Once we arrive at my trailer, I look up to find a gate on my ceiling, in the exact spot Chrissy died. I shiver in disgust.
We all look up to see something prodding at the gate from the other side.
When it eventually opens up, Dustin, Max, Lucas, and Erica are standing directly above us.
