Regrets

"Vance, come on! You have to study if you wanna pass this year." Marie argued, running and catching up with him.

"I hate studying." He muttered and threw his arms up in defeat.

"Vance fucking Hopper, if you don't study right now-"

"Your not my mom."

"Okay, but I'm your girlfriend, and I go to my junior next year, while you're still stuck in middle school."

(Is Vance 15 or 16? I'm just gonna say 15🤷🏽‍♀️)

"Whatever, I don't understand why it matters so much!"

"Vance. It matters because I care about you, I want you to have a job, so that we can have a life together."

"It doesn't matter! I can still get a job."

"Fine, be like that." She threw her hands up and left him on the sidewalk, he walked by himself.

Then that's when the whole pinball incident happened.

Marie sighed and saw him waiting on the outside of the police station, she went up to him.

"Look, V, I'm sorry. Are you okay?"

"I'm fine." He muttered, passing her.

She ran up to him "vance. Please, just listen to me for a second."

"What?" He turned around, annoyed. She grabbed his hands.

"Look, Vance, I love you, I really do. I cant force you to do anything, I just want the best for you."

He stayed silent.

"I really do care about you, honestly. Which is why I want you to have a job, so you can move out of your parents house."

"Look, Marie, I really care about you and love you too. I'm sorry. I am trying my hardest, I really am. I want the best for us too, but it's just hard."

Her heart broke "I understand that, which is why it's okay to ask for help, and it's okay to cry, V."

"I gotta go, my parents are probably gonna kill me." He joked.

"Vance..."

"I'll be fine, I love you."

"Love you too." She sighed and gave him a kiss on the cheek, before they both left.
