Chapter 9

The girl with the missing/dead boyfriend

It's been a year since Vance's been gone. Marie was more impacted than anyone else, his parents were relieved.

She's gotten closer to her brother, she's cried into his shoulder so much. He felt horrible for her, she was a good person, she didn't deserve this.

That's when everyone started saying he was dead, and she was known as the girl with the missing or dead boyfriend.

And Robin got into a lot of fights too now. Which was partially her fault she felt.

She sat in her room, with her cassette player and tape. She was listening to Pink Floyd. She and Robin had lived with their uncle now, after their mom died for unknown reasons. And their dad had died years ago in a war, before they were even born. Their uncle was barely even home, he was always at work.

Two major (alleged) deaths in a year, ouch.

Anyways, Robin was 13, she was a sophomore now.

She fell asleep with her headphones in, and she had a dream. A dream she wished would actually happen.

She saw Vance's blonde curly hair, and herself. They held hands and walked in a park, laughing while Vance made a stupid joke.

She smiled to herself in her sleep, Robin just so happened to pass her room. He frowned, and decided to not bother her because by the smile on her face she was dreaming. He looked behind her, and on her desk she had a drawing he hadn't seen before. It was stained and a ring was on top of it.

He picked up the ring and examined the drawing. It looked stained with water, and then he realized what the drawing was. It was of Vance.

Happy birthday!! I love you (:'

He read, he looked at her and sighed. He knew they were dating even before she told him, he wasn't stupid.

He put the ring and drawing back on her desk, and left the room and went to his own, and got ready for his fight.

Everyone cheered for Bruce, While Finney was slightly upset.

They all said good game, and Finney went to leave with his team.

"Hey dude! Man, your arm is mint. You almost had me." Bruce smiled and stopped him.

"Good game." Finney said and left.

Bruce rode his bike, and was happy and proud about his win. His parents would be too.

He slowed down when he realized a black van approaching him.

Finney ate, while his father read the newspaper.

"You think you can slurp that a little louder? I don't think they can hear you up in boulder."

Gwen opened up something, he sighed loudly and it clanged on the counter. "Sorry daddy."

She grabbed the bread out and then they headed to school.

"I don't know. Everyone says Fonzie or Richie. Millie says Potsie. But I don't think anyone should ever trust anyone who wants to grow up and marry potsie. I think I'll just stick with my current plan and marry Danny Bonduce."

"You're not gonna marry a member of the Patridge family."

"I love his voice." She continued walking, but Finney had stopped and looked at the poster.
