Dream
I resume with putting grass in George's hair as he rests on my lap. I think he's in pain, he told us what happened. I wish that I'd done something else to help out instead of trying hard not to laugh at George's hilarious insults. I know that I kissed him in front of the group to make them uncomfortable and then also swore at them but I didn't punch one or anything. By George's story they all deserve to be punched or worse. Nobody can speak like that and get away with it, let alone ambush someone in an alleyway and nearly kill them.
"Dream I swear to God" George complains. "Stop putting grass in my hair"
I sigh dramatically as Sapnap snorts. "How many times do I have to tell you? It's hypothetical grass. Hypothetically I'm not putting anything in your hair"
"Fancy language won't get you out of this" he retorts. "You'll be the one washing it out tonight and I won't even give you the privilege of using my shower"
"What, I'll just have to hose you down then will I?" I ask smartly. I get a stick from the ground beside me but George moves, making a tsk before rolling over. He sees me with the stick, me poised to tuck it neatly into his hair. Uh oh. Sapnap sits up just in time to watch George tackle me back over.
"Don't you dare!" he yells, trying to sound mad but his voice is laced with laughter. "I told you not to"
I land on my back, the soft grass cushioning the fall. George tries to wrestle the stick from my hand but it doesn't work. I pull my hand away and then Sapnap joins in, pinning my other arm down that is trying to push George away.
"Huh?!" I yell. "Sapnap I thought you were on my side!"
Sapnap just smiles. "There are no sides in war Dream"
"I'm pretty sure there ar-" I get cut off as George pins my other arm down which is holding the stick. He grabs the end of it and pulls as I tighten my grip around it, willing myself not to let go. George is stronger than I thought and I would use my legs to get him and Sapnap off me but they're being held down by George's body.
"Get it George get it!" Sapnap chants as I feel my grip failing.
"I'm trying to Sapnap, jeez" George says, pulling at it again. "Dream let go!"
"No way" I laugh. "You'll literally kill me with that thing"
George smiles. "That's the point"
"You wouldn't actually kill me would you?" I ask, a little scared. And for that one second I lose my grip on the stick. George holds it up, victory written all over his face. That is until Sapnap tackles him, making the weight that was on my legs lift as George topples over. He makes a surprised shout and I get up quickly.
"Sapnap!" George hisses under him. "You were meant to be on my side"
"I literally said that there are no sides" he says. "Besides, being a traitor is fun, don't you think?"
George huffs and I take the opportunity to pin his arm down, just like he did to me. Sapnap gets his other arm so now he's lying with both hands above his head like he's surrendering. He rolls his eyes as I snatch the stick away again with a small smile.
"I always win" I say. George groans and shoves Sapnap off him. I pat my lap to invite him back over. He reluctantly accepts but seems comfortable when he settles down. He just can't help himself sometimes. I like to think it's because I'm irresistible but that's just for my ego. Oh well.
"And back to where we were" I say. "I'm just gonna-" I put the stick into Georges hair gently. I don't think he notices. Either that or he's just given up. "There we go. See? That wasn't so hard was it?"
