George
there is no smut but it becomes close to it so heads up ok? <3
I've decided to crash at Sapnap's tonight. Dream hasn't called since we said bye at school so I'm sitting around the dinner table. I love Sapnaps parents, they're so open. Right now they're discussing Karl which makes for a lovely chat to sit through. And I'm not even kidding there.
"How was your date anyway?" Sapnap's mum, Rose asks. "The other night I mean"
"Ah, you know" Sapnap says. "The conversation was lousy but the sex was fantastic"
I pause during a sip of water with a choke. Rose shakes her head with a small smile but her husband, Joshua looks a little more serious.
"Hey that's not funny" he says, crossing his arms.
Sapnap clicks his tongue. "I don't know, pretty sure it was"
"What about you George?" Rose asks. "Any romance in your life?"
I take my time in putting my cup down and putting a thoughtful expression on my face before answering. "Uh"
I feel bad that my answer is so boring. I've known Rose and Joshua for nearly my whole life, they're like my parents to me. They are the ones that I don't have. I plant my foot, preparing myself to tell them.
"Well actually" I say eventually. "I do have some"
"Do tell us George" Rose says, her hand reaching over and covering mine in a reassuring gesture. "We'd love to know"
Sapnap nods his head and I exhale. "I'm seeing Dream"
Joshua's eyes go wide and Rose claps. "Oh my goodness!"
I scratch the back of my head nervously. "Yeah it's cool"
"I'm so happy for you" Rose exclaims. "Dream is a wonderful person, Sapnap has known him for a while and was very sad when he didn't go to the same high school"
Sapnap rolls his eyes. "Mum I'm not that emotional"
"Mhm sure" Rose says, her eyebrow quirking. "We can go into the details if you want"
Sapnap shakes his head vigorously. "No we can just change the subject"
"Back to Karl it is" Rose says with a sly smile. Sapnap throws his head back and groans. Whilst they argue, I take my plate off the table and stand up. Joshua comes and helps me, meeting me in the kitchen. He places a gentle hand on my arm, making me look at him.
"Go and see Dream" he says. "We can clean up now"
Guilt makes my face flush. "Are you sure?"
"Yes George, of course I'm sure" Joshua says, pulling me into a hug that I didn't think I needed. "All I ask of you is to be safe and we're always here, you're always welcome into our home"
"I'm sorry" I say anyway. "I was planning to stay here tonight but Dream hasn't said anything since school and deep down I think something is wrong"
"It's best to listen to your gut then" Joshua explains. "Please go, we're all good here"
I pull away and walk over to Sapnap. He looks up, not seeming surprised that I'm going. He offers to come with me but I say that he should just have a nice night, just relax and I'll handle whatever has happened. Rose hugs me goodbye, her sweet perfume wafting around me. I've always loved the smell, it's comforting. I close the door quietly behind me, shutting out the chatter and getting into my car. I flick it on and drive, the rain beginning to patter down again outside. I turn the heater on in my car, a little sad that I have to considering that it's close to spring and that means it should be warmer, not colder. I tap the steering wheel aimlessly to the beat of a song that isn't even playing and I continue until I reach Dreams driveway. I open the door and my nose is assaulted by the sharp smell of alcohol. Dream is lingering in the kitchen, wobbling from side to side and staring with sharp eyes at the floor.
