Family Bonds - part 2 ~ Chapter 7

"Oh, Its alright, Ayato-san. Thank you." Thoma answered with a sweet smile as Ayato yearned to cherish that smile but he couldn't, not when they were being stared at by Thoma's brother, so he quietly stepped back, away from Thoma.

The ginger looked at his wristwatch and immediately spoke, "I'll be right back. You can start eating, I am not gonna eat yet." Saying that, Tartaglia left the room, leaving Ayato and Thoma alone.
"Is something the matter?"

"Probably something to do with his job, best to not question."

"Be completely silent, alright? I told you why already." spoke a demanding voice.

Thoma and Ayato had just finished their own (late) lunches, Thoma smiling with just a little pride yet Ayato found it more cute than annoying.
"So, Didn't I tell you my brother cooks great?" Thoma had an expectant look on his face, as if Ayato was judging his cooking instead,
Ayato fiddled around with his fingers before saying
"Meh, it was alright." in a neutral tone, leaning towards a negative side.

"Wha- Are you sure? But everyone whose tasted it likes it-"

"I am kidding Thoma, your brother cooks lovely."
'If thats what you wanted to hear.. Though I'd rather prefer your happiness from when I specifically compliment you.'
"I only said that to mess with you." Ayato spoke with a smile.

"Ayato-saaan..." Thoma puffed up his cheeks and looked stubbornly at Ayato, it was such a hard job to keep himself from blushing because of this adorable blonde. He poked his cheek
("Plup." Spoke Ayato with a playful smile as Thoma grumbled but smiled for a second at Ayato, returning the playful gesture)
and it deflated into a blushing Thoma, And then, that adorable little, sun's favorite child himself, smiled at Ayato with fondness no words could explain. It caught Ayato off-guard, making him turn into a bright red face.
Yes, He was very willing to kill for this boy who stole his heart ever since he first saw him bid farewell to Yoimiya, when she used to come over to play with Ayaka as a child. Thoma never talked to him or Ayaka, if he'd known he was that close to Yoimiya- well, at least he is getting that long-awaited recognition now.

"Ayato-san? You asked me last time if zoning out was a normal thing for me, now, look at you." Thoma continued to smile.

"I.. Oh. Uh.." Ayato slightly shook his head,
"Are you okay, Ayato-san?" How quickly did Thoma's tone change from playful, teasing and now to concerned?
"I'm. I'm fine. Don't worry. I just thought of something which is nothing important." Ayato gave his best reassuring smile, which got Thoma at least somewhat convinced.
"Uh.. Well, Alright. Though, have you ever been to Mondstadt specifically, Ayato-san?"

"Actually, contrary, no. I have not. This is well near my first time."

"Really? Well! Do you want to go out? As in, hang around Mondstadt? Its only 5:30 pm right now." Thoma spoke, checking his phone for the time in between (5:32 pm) "I wanna make sure you taste all the local specialties! Maybe souvenirs too." Thoma continued smiling through the statement.

It really sounded like a date for a good second. But then, Ayato realized, he is in love with Thoma. One of the densest people to step on this planet probably. Denser than any forest.

"Sure, why not, might as well live my first visit to the best." Ayato replied with a small smile to the over-excited boy.
