The Story of Benjamin Rogers

Part 3

The brothers were in the car with Agent Carter, whose name they learned as Peggy. Steve turned to Benjamin.

Steve: "We know this neighbourhood."

Benjamin smiled and nodded. Steve then turned to the rest of the car.

Steve: "We got beat up in that alley. And that parking lot. And behind that diner."

Benjamin: "Alright, Steve. Stop embarrassing us buddy."

Peggy: "Did you have something against running away?"

Steve: "You start running, they'll never let you stop. You stand up, you push back. They can't say no forever, right?"

Peggy: "I know a little of what that's like, to have every door shut in your face."

Steve: "I guess I just don't know why you'd want to join the army if you were a beautiful dame. Or a... A woman. An agent. Not a dame. You are beautiful, but..."

Benjamin: "Jesus."

The older brother shook his head in shame with a playful smirk on his face.

Peggy: "You have no idea how to talk to a woman, do you?"

Benjamin then muttered.

Benjamin: "You got that right."

Steve: "I think this is the longest conversation I've had with one. Woman aren't exactly lining up to dance with a guy they might step on."

Peggy: "You must have danced."

Steve: "Well, asking a woman to dance always seemed so terrifying. And the last few years, it just didn't seem to matter that much. I figured I'd wait."

Peggy: "For what?"

Steve: "The right partner."

The agent smiled while Benjamin shook his head amused at the whole conversation. They then arrived a tailors.

Benjamin: "What are we doing here?"

Peggy: "Follow me."

They then entered and an old lady came out.

Lady: "Wonderful weather this morning, isn't it?"

Peggy: "Yes, but I always carry an umbrella."

The lady then pressed some sort of button under a desk to reveal a hidden door. The trio entered and walked down a halfway and into an astonishing lab. They entered the lab further to meet Dr. Erksine.

Erksine: "Are you ready?"

They both nodded.

Erksine: "Good. Now both of you take off your shirt, your tie and your hat."

They both did as they were told.

Erksine: "Steve, please enter the machine. Benjamin, go to Mr. Stark. The procedure will start shortly."

Steve then entered the machine and Benjamin went over to Stark.

Benjamin: "Pleasure to meet you Mr. Stark. Your work is incredible."

Stark: "Thanks. Please, call me Howard."

Benjamin nodded. The machine then closed on Steve. Dr Erskine then talked into the microphone explaining to reporters what he is doing. He then started the procedure on Steve.

Howard then came towards Benjamin and told him he was now going to inject the vampire serum into him. He nodded and Howard did exactly that.

Benjamin: "Hey, that wasn't so ba-."
