The Halstead Reunion

Chapter 4

As Alex and Matt arrived back at 51 they walked in to the common Boden walked up them as Matt went and sat down at the table.

"Are you okay to work or do you need the rest of your shift off?" Boden asked Alex as she felt a bit sick, she tried her best to hold it back before answering Boden.

"Yeah I'm okay to work Chief. It was just some low blood sugar and then I'm worried about Hailey as well, but I'm good. If you'll excuse me" Alex said walking out heading towards the bunk room and down to the toilets as she threw up when Matt walked in to check on her.

"Are you sure you're okay Alex? Cuz you don't look fine" Matt said walking over next to at the sink as she washed her face.

"Seriously Matt I'm fine don't worry" Alex said trying to push past him and out but he stood in front of the door blocking the way out.

"No you're not. Talk to me Halstead. What's going on at the moment?" Matt said Alex looked everywhere else then at him. This wasn't exactly the place she wanted to have this conversation.

"Okay fine. I'll tell you but can we go to your office and talk instead?" Alex asked him as he nodded his head curious and slightly concerned. As the two of them walked down the hallway and into Matt's office Alex got a look from Stella winking her eyes at her as she closed the door to Matt's office and sat down at his bed as he sat on the chair in front of her.

"I'm pregnant. 12 weeks. That's why I fainted at med earlier. I only figured out today" Alex said as Matt's eyes widened as he stood up.

"That's amazing Alex! Congratulations. Wait you want this one right?" Matt asked just to be sure before he continued to be excited for her.

"Yes, this one I actually want" Alex said laughing a bit. Being with Matt always made her happy. Him along with Severide was like a second pair of siblings to her and they were always there for her whenever she needs it which she's so thankful for.

"So who's the lucky guy?" Matt asked sitting down again.

"Well he's of Italian decents, but currently lives in New York. His name is Dominick and he works with Sex Crimes in Manhattan for the NYPD and before you ask and become all overprotective and stuff. Yes he treats me good, really good in fact, he's so amazing, sweet and caring" Alex said smiling as Matt smiled back at her.

"I'm so happy for you Alex. You deserve this happiness and he sounds like a great guy. So when can I meet him?" Matt asked as someone knocked on the door.

"Don't tell anyone yet" Alex said as he nodded his head and opened the door to see Gallo sticking his head in and spotting Alex on Matt's bed.

"Captain, here's the incident report you asked for earlier" Gallo said as Alex stood up about to walk out as soon as they were done talking.

"Thanks, Gallo" Matt expecting Gallo to leave again but he didn't. He kept looking at Alex wondering why she was on his bed earlier.

"Thanks for the talk Casey. I'm gonna go see what the others are up to" Alex said squeezing Matt's a rm a bit as she went out which just made Gallo even more confused as he walked out after Alex following her into the locker room.

Other than Alex being new to the house, Gallo has also recently been added as the new candidate for Truck 81.

As they entered the locker room Alex went over to hers as she stopped in her actions and turned around to look at Gallo.

"Are you stalking me?" Alex asked crossing her arms leaning up against her locker making Gallo a bit flustered.

"No that wasn't my intention. My name is Blake Gallo I'm the new candidate. Are you close with the captain?"Gallo asked as he started feeling a bit intimidated by her.
