Chapter 19

"You're gonna be okay, they're going to fix you" Sylvie said with tears in her eyes trying to save Alex with sitting next to her holding Alex's hand as Violet drove as fast as she could towards med.

"Will, Marcel, incoming is 5 minutes away you're going to treatment 4" Maggie said as the sirens of ambo pulling in could be heard.

"Brett, what do we got?" Will asked as they rolled in the gurney with Alex on as Antonio was following close behind.

"Alex Halstead, gunshot wound to the abdomen, she's lost a lot of blood and lost consciousness in the ambo" Sylvie said while pushing the gurney as Crocket and Will took over pushing her into a treatment room as Crocket took over from there and Will came out to join Sylvie, Violet and Antonio.

"What happened?" Will asked stepping out as Antonio stepped forward.

"I'm not sure she called me scared and said she made a mistake and when I showed up I found her unconscious on the ground with her hand over the wound" Antonio explained as Will thanked him and went into assist Crocket again.

As Will walked back into the treatment room as Alex started regaining consciousness again.

"Connor, Will.... Where am I?" She said with a raspy voice as Will took her hand and looked at her.

"Alex it's Will, I'm here. You're at Med, Jay is on his way with Josh." Will said as Alex just nodded her head as she asked about Connor again.

"I will go find him sis, don't worry" Will said as he left the room in a hurry as Crocket and April prepared to move her up to the ICU.

As he went out of her room roaming around in the ED for Connor he saw the waiting room filled with Firefighters as he spotted Jay with Josh.

"Will what the heck happened?!" Both Jay and Kelly almost said unison waking up to him as it got the attention of the rest of 51 as well.

"We don't know for sure yet, all we know is that she was shot and is being prepped to take up to the ICU. She's damn lucky, the bullet was through and through and didn't cause harm to any of her organs but she's lost a lot of blood and is in a lot of pain and still high on the rush and adrenaline from the shoot." Will explained as much as he could. He really needed to go find Connor as quick as possible.

"Omg..." Stella blurted out putting a hand on Kelly's shoulder.

"Is gonna be okay doc?" Hermann asked as Will just looked at them.

"We don't know. We're doing everything we can. Look I'll come update you when I know more, but I really have to go find Connor" Will said as they all nodded their heads as Will went off again on his search.

"Hey! Dr.Bekker! Have you seen Dr. Rhodes?" Will said spotting Connor's new surgical partner.

"I think he's with a patient in the PICU, why?" She asked looking at him as she closed a file.

"A family emergency happened. Can you page him to ICU for me?" Will asked as Ava crossed her arms and chuckled at him.

"Yeah sure. Is it that young brown haired girl from earlier?" She asked as Will was about to leave again.

"Yeah it is. Tell him it's urgent, thank you" Will said as Ava greeted him goodbye as he waked away back down to the ICU to see Alex getting sat into the room.

"Why's she on a ventilator? She was alert and talking in the ED" Will said getting a bit hot headed as Connor came running up behind him.

"Will, she was going in and out of consciousness along with being in a lot pain. We had to put her in a medical coma to let her body rest. I'm sorry, you can go get Jay if you guys want to be alone with her" Crocket said as Will just nodded his head as he led Connor go to into her room while he went down to get Jay and Josh.

Will took a deep breath and quickly dried his eyes as Natalie came up to him just as he was about to walk into waiting room.

"Are you okay, Will?" She asked putting her hand on his back. Will just nodded his head at her as she rubbed his back as he thanked her and walked out in the waiting room as everyone stood up.

"She's been moved up to the ICU now, and has been put in a medical coma to let her body rest and heal. You can go see her if you want" Will said walking out again and hurried into the doctors lounge as he planted himself on the couch and placed his head in his hands as he began to break down fully when Natalie happened to walk in and saw him as she went over to hug him and pulled him into his side without saying a word as Will leaned into her and let everything out that he has been bottling up.
