In the bunk room Alex and Blake were sitting on one of the bunk beds as he took a look at her bruise.
"Were you a paramedic before becoming a firefighter or what?" Alex asked chuckling a bit at Blake's seriousness.
"Yeah I had a bit of training, but I've actually worked as a paramedic I just know the basics" He said cleaning up the bruise.
"Done. You should be good to go now" Blake said as he put the bandage over a spot on her shoulder. She thanked him and they walked out again into the common room when Kylie came up to Alex and handed her a letter. She took and thanked her wondering who it was from as there was no return address on it but only her name on the the front.
She sat down at the table and and opened it only to see a picture of a building and a note that said "Meet me here at 5 pm tonight" she closed the letter and put it away as Gallo and a few others looked curious at her.
"What was it?" Kelly asked looking curious at her.
"Nothing special, just a postcard from my godfather" She said looking at the time. She had seen this place before and it wasn't even around here but more like out in Logan Square which didn't make any sense to her, but they seemed to buy her little lie. She soon needed to head out if she wanted to be at that place at 5 pm wondering what or who it could be.
"I need to head out guys. Jay wants to meet up" she said coming up with another lie hoping they would buy it which most of them did, except for Gallo, but he decided not to question her on where he was going and let her walk out after she hugged Kelly and Matt goodbye.
"If you haven't heard from me when shift is over. Call my brother Jay and Chief Hawkins. Don't tell Severide or Casey, understood?" The message as Gallo read it on his screen and it just made him even more curious and a bit worried as well, but he trusted her for now and did what she told him too.
And with that she borrowed Severide's car and headed north to this place. 30 minutes later she arrived at a building that looked liked an abandoned hospital which made her regret a bit going up here. She also thought back on what Elliot told her earlier about not leaving the firehouse, but then again what should she do when she get a note telling her to meet somewhere at a specific time. Who knows what could happen if had chosen not to go, but she also didn't know if she was going to make it out of that building alive. Before stepping out of the car her phoned dinged, it was Gallo.
"Everything okay?" He texted her to which she just answered.
"I'm not sure, but in case anything happens I love you and thank you for looking out for me" She texted him to which he sent a heart and with that she put the phone in her pocket and stepped out of the car looking at the time one last time. It was 4:55 pm. She walked into the building and looked around for whoever could be wanting to meet out here and that's when everything went black.
Back at the firehouse
It was almost the time where shift was over and Gallo hadn't heard a word from Alex since the last message she sent which was close to 4 hours ago now. He had thought multiple times to call Chief Hawkins but he didn't and kept giving her more time to reply to him saying she was okay and on her way back but he hadn't received that message yet and that's when a random man walked into the firehouse with Chief Hawkins and both of them had a worried looked on their faces which made Gallo's stomach drop.
"Hey Chief what brings you here?" Sylvie asked the Paramedic chief as he looked at her worried.
"Have you heard from Alex?" He asked with a slight panic in his voice.
"No I haven't, she left a few hours ago saying she was gonna meet up with her brother Jay Halstead" Sylvie said getting worried seeing the expression on his face.
