Sage's POV-

I wake up with my paci hanging out of my mouth, a bit of drool going down my chin, my cheeks are a bit blotchy from crying all night, and my blankets are all over the place. I sit up with a groan stretching my mucels and joints with a satisfying crack. I rub the sleep out of my eyes with my fists , I yawn letting my paci fall out of my mouth. I pick it up and place it on my side table letting my eyes adjust to my room.

It's nice and cozy perfect for my wolf, who seems to be ignoring me for some reason... I'll let them out for a run later, they perk up at that. Well hello to you too asshole, They growl at me I chuckle getting out of bed untangling myself from the blankets, grabbing my phone and turning it on 9am. On the dot every day I guess... I get up to go use the restroom and shower I wash my hair and body while in the shower. Once I'm done I'm wrapped in a towel and making my way towards my closet. I pick out a more sophisticated outfit for the BBQ today.

I smile at the star chains and grab a pair of black knee socks pulling them on and heading down stairs.

Once downstairs I listen for voices, seems like everyone's decided to gather in the living room today. I walts into the living room sitting on my special chair, no one else is aloud to sit in my chair or I'll have a melt down, I don't know why it just stresses me out. I sit down sitting criss cross in my chair pulling a pillow to the center of my lap, my sister is going on about some nonsense just trying to annoy our father while Jared sat in my sisters lap laying his head in the crook of her neck. Mates are so weird. My father noticed me sitting in my chair and sent me a smile before going back to looking at my sister confused and slightly impressed she's kept on the same topic for so long, " so sage what do you think? " my sister looks over to me. I didn't even think she noticed I was here, "what? " I stated bluntly looking confused. "The alpha got here last night, their packs pretty Recluse so we were taking guesses as to what they might look like. " My sister states, my mouth makes an o following with, " Not sure, but I did promise my wolf we'd go on a run again. They've been kinda uneasy since the news of the alpha coming, not sure why. " I let my family know, we share pretty much everything with each other. My sister strokes Jared's hair who I'm assuming was asleep and just woke up moving his head out of the crook of my sisters neck and smiling up at her, " there's eggs in the kitchen, make sure to eat some before you go out. " my father states, everyone in my family has an obsession with me eating for some reason ever since that event... I go into the kitchen grabbing a bowl of eggs eating slowly before heading out at 12pm, times weird.

I inhale the fresh air smelling something a bit unusual but pleasant, my wolf jumps at this but I ignore them. I pull my wolf to the front letting them take over popping my bones in and out of place and covering my skin with fur and with that their off running the perimeters, we do this pretty much every day so she doesn't feel cooped up. By the time we finish our perimeter run we are in a clearing playing with the bugs on the ground, pretty sure we we're both in little space- when all of the sudden the wind blows sending a heavenly scent towards me I perk up while my wolf says to me 'mate!' I look around for the source of the smell and spot a black wolf Laying on a cliff above me.

'Mama!' My wolf yells at me. I let out a whimper, was she watching me the whole time? I need to get out of here the pack BBQ is in 1 hour and I need my sister ASAP if not sooner. I turn away from the black wolf and sprint back too the house great full that the back door is open I run up to my sister. She quickly understands and brings me into a tight hug helping me calm down.

She let's me out of the hug, "Can you shift back so we can talk? " She asks trying to be as calm as possible I look around making sure I knew who was here, luckily it was just me and her in the living room, Jared's probably cooking for the BBQ and dads probably already at the pack house. I give her a nod and shift back having tears going down my face as I sit on the ground my sister joins me and starts massaging my hair trying to calm me down, "can you tell me what's wrong? " she asks. "I's found me mate buh I's no know what to dos so's I wan here. " I said in between sobs my voice very obviously little, "Sage that's awesome! " my sister squeals, I cover my ears while smiling at her. It's not really the reassurance I was looking for, then again I have no clue why I ran away, it was just a lot of emotions all of the sudden and I didn't know what to do. Hopefully I can find her again. "Let's go get you cleaned up for the party! " my sister squeals again I nod as she takes my hand and guides me to my room.

We enter my room and by the time we go there I wasn't little anymore, " I like the outfit I have on Rana, wanna help me with a makeup look since I know I'm not getting out of it? " she laughs at my Statment "you know me so well! " and with that she washes the evidence of any tears left on my face off, she pulls out my eyeliner from the drawer, she knows I only like eyeliner. She started her artwork.

I look in the mirror and smile at the eyeliner. "It looks awesome Rana! " I squeal and jump on her almost making her fall before she steadied herself and set me down, "Glad you like it sage, now let's go party! " she squeals. I nod and hold her hand while we make our way to the pack house.

Apologies for the cliff hanger but I feel like it's fun to be left in suspense, especially when it's easy to know what's gonna happen next but I could always add a twist!
