Chapter 11: Jealousy, Jealousy

Someone was chewing gum about two seats next to him, the teacher in front of the board was droning on about the Rain Forest or something, the person in front of him was continuously clicking their pen, and Jotaros best friend is flirting with some guy on the other side of the room.

He couldn't stand it, any of it.

Jotaro knew this kid, vaguely, he was a year or two older then them but for some reason in their grade, he was arrogant, no one really liked him, and he went by Steely Dan (even though Jotaro could almost guriente that wasn't his real name).

Jotaro looked over at his friend, Kakyoin, who was whispering to Steely Dan whenever the teacher turned her back from them. Jotaro didn't know why, but seeing them looking so... happily? Sweetly? Lustful? He doesn't exactly know why they were looking at each other like that or what they were talking about but there was an ache in his chest while looking at them together.

How did they even start talking?

"Jot, you good?"

I mean what do they even have in common?

"Jotaro?"

How the fuck does Kak not punch this guy in the mouth every time he starts talking-

"JOTARO!"

"Huh?" Jotaro was knocked back into reality by his friend Polnareff gently shaking his shoulder.

"You ok, you keep staring at Kak with his new boyfriend."

He tried to hide the shock in his voice, "Boyfriend?"

it didn't work.

But Polnareff looked pass it and continued, "I mean not officially but they're heading there."

Jotaro looked back at Kakyoin and felt that pain in his chest again. He tried to ignore it but after hearing Polnareff's words, the ache was stronger and unavoidable.

"Hey, you alright?" Polnareff asked again, with more concern in his voice.

"Yeah, yeah, I'm fine." he paused to take one last look at his best friend and, apparently, his new boyfriend. "Just a little tried."

"If you say so," the taller man looked back down at his meal with a sight, knowing, smile. "Oh, I almost forgot to ask! You coming to my party this weekend?"

"What's the occasion?"

"Does there need to be one?"

"Typically yes."

"Hm, sounds like Jealousy." Avdol stated with nonchalant confidence.

"Why the fuck would I be jealous of Kak?"

Avdol was typically the responsible one of the group. Jotaro felt he could confide in him without the risk of being made fun of. But out of slight embarrassment when Jotaro told his friend about the ache in his chest.

Avdol took a sip of his tea and looked back up at his friend with a slight smile. "I'm not saying you're jealous of Kakyoin." He paused. "I think you're Jealous of Dan."

"Steely Dan? Kak's boyfriend? Why would you think that?"

"I mean think about it, you only feel this way with Kakyoin, you're closer with him then ANY of us, and also Steely Dans a prick and I'm not happy he's talking to Kak either."

"Huh." Jotaro knew how he felt about Kak. I mean he think he does. Kakyoin is his best friend and he would do anything for him. But did he feel more then that?

The teen sat on his bed, thinking about what Avdol said. He loved Kak, but as a friend and nothing more.

He knew he liked guys, he always knew, but why was Kakyoin different from the other guys he's met.

They were friends, best friends, nothing more.

Right?
