All the colours drained from Harvey's face. So Shane did remember. After all, he did. And he lied to him shamelessly, lied to him when he had hopes still, when the day yet hadn't been destined to turn into this huge mess - or at least he hadn't known then.
"Oh, now you remember, don't you?" he blurted out. But he had to restrain himself, to hold back the upcoming anger.
"You didn't mention it either, so why should I have? And this isn't even the topic right now! You didn't even answer my question."
"You probably shouldn't have faked amnesia at least! Shane, I really-"
He stopped as he noticed Shane's eyes travelling down along his body. Following his glance he realized what he was staring at and quickly cleared his throat: "My eyes are up here, Shane"
"Whatever," Shane growled, tilting his head to the side, staring at the wall coldly.
Harvey sighed and ran his fingers through his hair. Taking a deep breath he was about to explain himself -
When he heard something shatter from behind, his office to be clear. He held his breath, slowly turning to the door. There was nothing glassy in his office. Only the window. And the medicine cabinet.

The medicine cabinet.

Harveys eyes widened in terror. He rushed towards the door, threw it open and let his eyes travel through the room, perceiving the scenery. Ready for the worst he was surprised to find Sebastian missing. The window was wide open and the pane of the medicine cabinet shattered.
He felt his heart sink inside his chest. "Sebastian- No..."
This was bad, worse than bad. Shane was already forgotten when Harvey walked towards the closet. All the splinters of glass scattered around on the floor, the curtains moving in the silent breeze that came through the window. The room felt icy, cold and empty. Just a few seconds ago it still was heated and lively. More lively than he had ever wanted it to be but thousand times more desirable than the current state. Miserably he put his head into his hands, his body was shaking.

Shane, who watched from afar, analyzing every of the mans moves, suddenly seemed to experience a shift in his behaviour. He walked up to the doctor from behind and put a hand onto his shoulder, just like Harvey himself had done the other day.
"Well, this is inconvenient"
"Inconvenient? Shane, this is absolutely horrible," Harvey sighed deeply, his voice faint, "It isn't only then mess Sebastian left this room in. In particular, this is the least of my problems. Of anyone's problems. Do you even know what state he is in? The circumstances are already problematic, more than that, and now there's added theft and the risk of him taking any of the stolen medicaments unprescribed. Shane I-"
But he was interrupted by Shane pulling on his shoulders, turning him around and pressing his lips onto the doctor's lips.

Harvey froze but at the same time he was pushing Shane away from him, harsh enough to send a message but with care so he wouldn't get hurt.
"You don't get the gravity of this situation, do you?"
"Harv, there are things we have no control over, you know that?" Shane was looking at him blankly, trying to ignore the distance the doctor held towards him, "You can't solve everyone's problems. And maybe you should start sorting out your own before you make an effort to help others."
Harvey looked small now. He wasn't the confident doctor in charge anymore. Neither was he a man who had his life together - joining the other three in their misery. He felt an immense sense of pain lingering in his chest, felt his eyes glaze over as he was looking at Shane. He knew he had to go after Sebastian but first...
"It meant something to me. It meant a lot. And it hurts to hear you accusing me of the opposite. But that doesn't matter, Shane, not anymore. I might be bad as your... One-nightstand or whatever. I'll accept that. But in no world would I accept to be a bad doctor. Now, if you excuse me," Harvey shoved Shane aside and walked towards the door, "There's a sick boy who needs my help."
