❦Awet sensation trickling down my face.
'Tears.'
In my younger years, I was constantly used to the continual taste of salty tears. I'm lying on a bed of dirt while a gang of laughing boys tower above me.
"Are you sure she's still alive?" My cheek is pricked by a stick.
"Ouch! Stop." I whisper-shout, retracting my hand back to my face.
One of them approached me and tugged at my ponytails, "What did I say about talking back to your superiors?"
"You are a foolish girl, I tell you! Because I'm a man, you're not supposed to talk back!" As my eyes begin to water, I avert my gaze. He tightens his hold once more.
"You aren't a man!" I cry out.
"What was that mousie?
"Speak up I can't hear you!" Another one of them chimed in. towering over the crying girl.
'Stupid boy!'
"Without Girls you wouldn't be on this earth dumbass!" I shout louder. Their faces twist into an scowl.
"Shut up you littl-" The boy is abruptly stopped mid-sentence by a kick, which causes him to fall to his butt. I wiped away my tears and looked up to see my older brother Kenji.
"You assholes, don't touch my sister!" I heard his words and felt a surge of comfort.
"He did it! I swear we weren't involved. Before running away, the boys snitch on their friend. I never saw my brother become a giant until the day I needed protection.
In front of the battered 4-year-old, the 13-year-old is kneeling down. He extended his hand.
"Come on sis, lets go." I take his hand and get up.
"Where are we going?" I question following the taller males lead.
He doesn't respond, so I scowled as I looked up at him. "Are we returning to that orphanage place?" I inquired, narrowing my eyes at him.
