Scrambling to exit the building as quickly as possible, you heard the sound of your heels clicking rapidly against the smooth floor tiles.
Your lips tightened into a scowl, and your nerves frayed as you considered the gravity of the mission at hand.
Thoughts raged in your mind,
like cogs turning in a complex machine, and you knew that this task was too important to fail.
Without slowing your pace, you walked towards the elevators, still hearing the sound of rapidly approaching footsteps.
Ignoring it, you continued onwards, ready to face whatever lay ahead. However, Kakucho caught up to you, calling out your name.
He was running alongside you, matching your speed,
and seemed just as determined as you to succeed.
Without wasting any time, you both headed for the elevators, ready to take on the next stage of your mission.
As you and Kakucho reached the elevators, you both paused for a moment, breathing heavily from the rush of adrenaline.
"My penthouse." Kakucho said,
his voice low and urgent.
"Hm?"
You pursed your lips turning your gaze towards him.
"We'll discuss further plans there."
He gave clarifaction in which you hummed and nodded, the elevators doors dinged on its own accord.
And with that, the two of you stepped into the elevator and descended into the unknown, ready to face whatever lay ahead this night.
Kakucho's penthouse ❧
As you stepped into the penthouse, the sweet fragrance of rosy air freshener
hit your nose immediately.
The familiar sights and smells of the well-decorated apartment transported you back to a time when things were simpler.
You've been here plenty of times before, and it always felt like a second home to you.
Taking off your six-inch heels,
you immediately put on the extra pair of house slippers.
Kakucho didn't mind as you made your way to the spacious living room,
while he made his way to the open counter area in the kitchen.
"Want a drink?"
He asked, wiping out a glass.
You glanced at your phone and saw a text from Ran earlier.
"Yeah, I'd like a glass,"
you said, observing him set a wine bottle on the counter.
"Damn, its already 1am?"
You exclaimed.
You hadnt notice that Kakucho was standing right next to you holding out your glass; seeing that he didnt get your attention he simply placed it on the side table next to you.
"Thanks."
You murmured putting your phone away, grabbing the glass; he nodded and moved his orbs to the side.
"I'll be right with you in a moment."
he said, his voice lowering
to a somber tone.
After some time, he returned with his laptop and a large binder full of various papers. The seriousness in his expression was evident, and you couldn't help but feel a surge of anticipation.
