"So you're coming?" Robin asked threw the phone. Steve hummed in a drowsy tone before agreeing to go, rubbing his aching eyes.

"Great! See you tonight at 7!" She'd exclaim before hanging up, Steve hung the phone back up to fall back on his bed to get the sleep that he needed. the night before he had been up late drinking while on his day off. he was having a hell of a week so he thought he could have a few drinks, but he over blew it.

his alarm blared on his bedside table, slapping it a good two times before it turned off. slumping out of bed at 6:20 to go to a garage band who he didn't know, but only going to hang out with his best friend.

he pulled on a pair of jeans he pulled from his dresser and a gray sweatshirt from his closet. bringing his red and white Nike shoes to the bathroom to do his hair.

after many groans and frustration breaks over his hair, he finally agreed to just go with what he had. putting on his shoes, grabbing his keys, and jumping in his car. driving to the Buckley household.

he pulled up in her driveway to not just Robin but also Vickie walking out the front door, the girl that Robin practically swoons over daily. his shoulders fell slightly, looking at the two smiley girls making their way down the steps.

Robin opened the door for Vickie, her saying thanks as they both scooted in the back seat. Steve stretched his arm on the back of the passenger seat, looking at the two.

"didn't know she was coming along" Steve then looked to Vickie who pushed herself into the seat, looking at Robin with a bright smile.

"oh right, sorry forgot to tell you" Robin rubbed her neck with an apologizing grin. looking to Vickie who were both smiling.

"it's alright" he gave Robin a sneaky wink before turning back around. Robin slapping his shoulder before he backed out of the driveway, snickering at her response.

"So where's this place at?" Steve peeked his head at Robin who was sitting in the middle seat looking out the front windshield while Vickie was looking out the left window.

"Oh just make a right then go straight" she leaned forward, leaning on the console in front of her, pointing the directions to the house.

Steve starter to slow down as he drove into the neighborhood, seeing a decent amount of people surrounding the garage, drinking and people setting up. He assume that was the place and looked for a parking spot.

Once they parked Robin helped Vickie out and started to walk to the group. Steve trailed close behind, hands stuffed in his pockets as he looked at the group of drunk teens and metal heads in conversations. He kept his eyes down, feeling out of place.

"Eddie!" Robin called, walking up to her high school friend with open arms.

"Robin!" Eddie called back, taking her embrace. "How have you been?" he let go with a patt on her back, crossing his arms to his chest.

"Been good" she smiled, looking back at her two friends. "Steve, Vickie, come here" the two walked up next to her, awkward smiles on their faces.

"Steve, nice to see you again," Eddie said in a mumble, looking the taller boy up and down.

Steves's eyebrows frowned in confusion, had he known this metal head? "Uh, have i.. seen u before?" he questioned, looking at the smirking man.

"No, but I've seen you before. in school" Steve nodded in understanding. Feeling squirmy by the guitarist's smirking glair towards him.

He gave Vickie a greeting before excusing himself to set the rest of his equipment up.

"Come on they have drinks" Robin waved them to the folded table that held a bowl with punch that reeked of alcohol by the stench.

"Someone doesn't know how to level out alcohol and punch" Steve hissed, scooping his red solo cup in the punch and taking a drink, dripping down his chin. he wiped the spill off his chin, realizing he shouldn't be drinking heavily for he was driving home and he drank just last night.

He took small sips, watching the liquid spin as he swirled the cup in circles. He looked next to him at Vickie and Robin laughing and talking, then to the drink.

He could feel people taking glances at him, wondering why a 'Jock' would watch a metal garage band perform. Truth is he wouldn't be here if Robin didn't drag him here.

"Hey, they're starting" Robin nudged Steves's arm who was leaning in the car parked next to the curb. Robin started walking up to the band, Steve staying at the car, watching the band starting. He knew he was able to hear them from here. Not wanting to blow his eardrums out.

Steve placed his cup on the top of the car and crossed his arms, watching the band intently. To his opinion, he didn't think the song wasn't as bad as he thought it would be.

Steve gazed unintentionally at Eddie as he did his solo. his hair flaring everywhere, his tongue settling on his top lip in concentration, It was a straight sight.

Eddie finished his riff, looking up to Steve whose gaze broke and fell on his shoes. He snickered at him and continued playing with a smile stained on his face, luckily his hair covering it.

They finished off and said their thanks to everyone for showing, Robin hugging Eddie.

Steve picked up his empty cup, tapping the side with his finger while he walked over, Eddie watching as he came over.

"So how do you think I did?" Eddie put on hand on his hip, leaning his face forward, inches away from Steve's lowered eyes.

Steve leaned his head back away from his, "it was alright" he shrugged, a smile creeping on his face.

"mhm" Eddie hummed, knowing that Steve was caught on his play, "maybe next time you'll really like it" he patted Steve's shoulder

"who said next time?" Steve looked back up to Eddie's cocky stare, his eyebrows frowning.

"I did. you better come Harrington" Eddie poked Steve's chest, winking as he turned to pack everything up.

Steve rolled his eyes with a scuff, why does he want him to come so bad? he didn't want to be there in the first place.

he tossed his crumbled cup in the trash, walking towards the car where Robin and Vickie were patiently waiting.

"took you long enough," Robin whined, opening the car door after Steve unlocked the car.

"blame your friend" he grumbled, turning the key and starting the car, the engine rumbling as it started.

"Why is that?" she leaned forward, looking at Steve's side who was looking at the radio.

"he's making me go to the next one" he stated, turning the knob for the radio for a good station.

Robin leaned back in her seat. "so did u like it?" she asked, wondering why would Eddie invite Steve to his next play so quickly.

"it was alright, better than I expected" he finally started to head on the road, pulling out of the neighborhood.

she nodded and started talking to Vickie who was looking out the window.

as Steve drove home all he could ponder about was Eddie, his playing, his glare. what was up with this guy? why was he all... flirty? he shrugged it off and dropped Robin and Vickie off and headed home. flopping in his bed.
