1989

Earth

"Dad?" Mara walked into her dad's kitchen. She had headphones around her neck. The sound of Rocket man played. She didn't know they had guests over. Though they didn't look like normal people. Her dad looked at her.
"Hun go upstairs." He said a little nervous. The guests had helmets and strange suits. Mara nodded and walked to her room. She sat there wondering why one man was blue. She kind of brushed it off. She stopped her Walkman. It was her mothers. He dad told her he got it for her mom.

Down stairs in the kitchen.
"I'm sorry." Mara's dad said to the men. The men were Kree men.
"John, we need to take the girl." One man said.
"She is half Asgardian." The other man said. John shook his head.
"She is still half human. That part is me. She is my daughter" he said with anger. Memories of his wife flash through his head. Mara was a spitting image of Freya. "If she needs to be in Asgard, then why didn't that one eyed bastard come and take her?"John asked.
"John McFly, we have debts to pay the Asgardians for aiding us." The first man spoke. John shook his head.
"No, I won't let you take her. I'm not letting you put her in danger like her mother." John said. The second man pulled out a blaster and pointed it at John.
"Call for your daughter. Or I'll go in there and drag her out." The first man said. A tear slipped down his cheek.
"MARA! Mar, kid!" John yelled. Mara walked into the kitchen. There she saw her dad with a blaster to his head. "Mar hun. You gotta go with these men." Mara shook her head no. "Mara, I love..." her father didn't finish his words when the kree man shot him. Mara screamed. That was the last thing she remembered that day. After that, it took a couple day, but she got away from the kree. She ended up hopping ships. That's what got her arrested.

1998
In a prison on the outskirts of somewhere

Mara was sitting in the cafeteria. She spent about almost a year in prison. It was pretty calm, except for the new guys. The damn raccoon and tree. She lifted up her head when she heard the raccoon talk. He was arguing with one of the inmates. Mara got up because she could tell they were going to fight. She watched the tree step up but his arms were ripped off by the inmate. Mara shot up. She ran to the fight. She grabbed the raccoon by its neck and pushed him back.
"Hey" he yelled. Mara looked at the inmate.
"I suggest you leave my friends alone. Or I'll make sure you can't eat solid foods." Mara threatened. The inmate walked away. Mara didn't look at the two she saved. She walked to her table.
"Hey kid!" The raccoon yelled. She sat down in her seat. "That was a pretty tough kid. Standing up for the two newbies. Who are you?" He asked. Mara looked at him.
"Mara. Mara McFly." She said. The racoon nodded.
"Nice. The name is Rocket." He said as Mara looked at him. "And this is groot." Rocket pointed to the tree.
"I am Groot?" Groot asked. Mara shrugged her shoulders.
"I don't know twig." Mara answered. Rocket looked at her in shock.
"You know what he said?" The raccoon asked. Mara nodded. "What are you?" He asked.
"Terran, I guess. One day some kree bastards killed my dad and took me. I don't know what for, but I got away from them." Mara said. Rocket nodded.
"Since you helped us, why don't we help you out of this place." Rocket said. Groot smiled.  A smile started to grow on Mara. That night the three were free.

2014
Xander, Capital of the Nova Empire

Rocket and Groot, are spying on the Xandarians in the city
"Xandarians. What a bunch of losers. All of them in a big hurry to get from something stupid, to nothing at all. Pathetic. Look at this guy! Can you believe they call us criminals, when he's assaulting us with that haircut?"Rocket said referring to the Xandarian man with short blond hair walking on the sidewalk "What is this thing? Look how it thinks it's so cool. It's not cool to get help! Walk by yourself, you little gargoyle"Rocket continued about the small Xandarian child getting help whilst walking. "Look at Mr. Smiles over here. Where's your wife, old man? What a class-A prevert." Rocket talked about the older Xandarian man chatting up a pretty young woman. Rocket laughs. "Right, Mara?Groot? Groot?" Rocket called. He looks over to Groot and sees he's drinking water from the nearby fountain "Don't drink fountain water, you idiot. That's disgusting!" Rocket yelled at Groot. Mara shook her head.
"Mmm." Groot shakes his head pretending he didn't drink it. Mara and Rocket roll their eyes.
"Yes, you did. We just saw you doing it. Why are you lying?" Mara asked. Groot shrugged his shoulders. Rocket's tablet starts beeping warning him of a human sighting.
"Whoop. Looks like we got one. Okay, humie, how bad does someone wanna find you?" Rocket talked to himself. His tablet shows Peter talking to Bereet, Rocket sees that there's a bounty on Peter
"Forty thousand units?" Mara asked in surprise.
"Groot, we're gonna be rich!" Rocket yelled. Rockets looks over to Groot and finds him drinking from the water from fountain again, he sighs and shakes his head.
"He's Terran?" Mara asked. Rocket nodded. Mara hasn't been this close to another Terran before in a long time. "I'll scout. I bet there's more people after him." Mara followed the man named Quill. He walked into the Brokers shop. She watched a green lady stand outside theBrokers shop, Mara knew she was the daughter of Thanos. After a few minutes Peter Quill came out of the shop angry. He talked to Gamora.
Suddenly Gamora grabs the orb, kicks Peter in his stomach and runs off, Peter throws something like a magnetic rope which catches around Gamora's legs and trips her up, as she gets the rope off her legs Peter catches up to her but Gamora manages to kick him off and starts punching him, she holds up her knife ready to stab him
"This wasn't the plan." Gamora said. That's when Mara grabbed and ripped Gamora off of Peter. Rocket jumps on to her and knocks her down. Peter got on his elbows and looked at Mara.
"Thanks..." he started to say but Mara pulled out a blaster and pointed it at him.
"Move or I'll shoot." Mara threatens.
"Put him in the bag. Put him in the bag!" Rocket yelled to groot, to put Peter in the bag. But the tree ends up trying to put Gamora in the bag.
"No! Not her, him!" Mara yelled.
"Learn genders, man." Rocket finished. Rocket struggles with Gamora and she tries to bite him "Biting? That's not fair!" Rocket said. 
Peter uses this opportunity to knock Mara down.
"What's your deal?" Peter asked Mara. Mara growled. She flipped them so she was on top of him. Gamora manages to free herself from Rocket and Groot's clutches, she throws Rockets aside, picks up a piece of metal, throws it at Mara's shoulder making her lose her grip on Peter. Gamora pushed Mara off Peter. Peter took his chance running and grabbing the orb. Gamora tried going after Peter but Mara got in her way. They started fighting hand to hand. Gamora overpowered her.
"You should have learned." Gamora said. Mara smirked.
"Not one of my strong suits." Mara said as she placed a disk on Gamora to shock her. Gamora ripped it off before running after Peter. Gamora takes a knife and throws it at Peter's hand making him drop the orb, she grabs and as she runs off. Peter jumps on to her and knocks her down but Gamora overpowers him again and holds Peter down.
"I have to kill and I didn't plan on that." Gamora growled at Quill. Peter grabs the orb from her hand, attaches a small rocket launcher on Gamora and sets it off, throwing Gamora aside, thinking he's in the clear and suddenly Groot places a bag over Peter's head. "What the... " Peter said. Groot starts carrying Peter in the bag over his shoulder

"Quit smiling." Mara jokes.
" You idiot. You're supposed to be a professional." Rocket said in a serious voice. Just then he sees Gamora coming towards them.
"You gotta be kidding me." Rocket said. Mara looked and saw the green woman. Gamora pushes Rocket and Mara asid. " Hey!" Rocket yelled. Gamora fights with Groot, cutting off his arms, as she opens the bag Peter suddenly uses his gun to electrocute her and runs off, Rocket gets out his gun and aims it at Peter.
" I live for the simple things. Like how much this is gonna hurt." Rocket then shoots his gun which shoots a ball of electricity at Peter giving him an electric shock. Mara and Rocket fist bump.
"I'll grab him." Mara said.
" Yeah. Writhe, little man." Mara heard Rocket say to Peter. Rocket looks at Groot who is looking sadly as his severed arms "It'll grow back, you D'ast idiot. Quit whining." Just then they are captured by The Nova Corps
Mara is stopped by Dey. Rocket, Groot, and Gamora are lifted up in the air.
"Subject 89P13, drop your weapon." Nova Pilot said.
"Oh, crap." Rockets reluctantly drops his weapon.
"By the authority of the Nova Corps, you are under arrest." TheNova Pilot said and at the same time Peter and Mara are being arrested.

"Alright. Come on up." Dey said to Peter. They help Peter up.
".for endangerment to life and the destruction of property." The Nova Pilot continued. As Dey arrests Peter and Mara  he recognizes them.
"Hey! If it isn't Star-Prince." Dey said, looking at Peter. He looked at Mara. "McFly." He nodded. Mara nodded back.
"Star-Lord." Peter said. Mara looked at him confused.
"Oh, sorry. Lord." Dey looks to his partner. "I picked this guy up a while back for petty theft. He's got a code name." Dey informed.
"Come on, man. It's a...it's an outlaw name." Peter whined.
"Just relax, pal. It's cool to have a code name. It's not that weird." Dey patted Peter's shoulder.
"What about the girl? How do you know her?" One officer asked Dey. Dey shrugged his shoulders.
"Arrested her a couple times. Stealing,Grand Theft Auto, prison break..." Dey rambled on. He looked to Mara who had her head down. Peter was shocked by how much she had done. "Is that all?" He asked the girl.
"And illegally transporting various things." She looked at Dey. "And don't ask me what they were. I don't know what I have delivered. It's for the seller's sake." Mara said with a smirk.
