Chapter 3 — Jace, That's a Calculator

Well, it is safe to say that my evening was quite eventful — Monday is finally done, and I have a remaining six hours to hang out with the others...doing homework.
It is now that I remember why I didn't miss High School.

We walk through the elevator into the sitting room, and Jace slumps onto the sofa along with the others.

"So, shall we go Takis for dinner?" asks Alec, who tosses his school bag to the side, retrieving his coat from the coat-rack, starting to pull it on. I catch his sleeve.

"No. We have homework. Homework, then food," I retort to Alec's actions.

I'm responded with numerous, miserable groans of despair.

"I don't get the point of this," Jace says, taking his home-work out of his bag. "I all of my life, when have I ever had to do math? It's not like I count the amount of demons I kill. And if I did, I would have gone off the number line," he casually says, sinking further down into the couch. "What even is this?," Jace gestures to the electronic device that he's holding. "We probably have runes for these."

"Jace, that's a calculator," I start. "And stop being so cocky, you ass," I laugh.

"Well, I, for one, have cooking home-work. So, I'm okay with it. I have to make a cake for food technology', Izzy says.

Jace's face is the first to drop; a look of something between amused and petrified replaces his smirk. Then, we all turn to look to her.

"We all know Iz, you and cooking...well, you don't exactly go...well...together," I respond, trying to stay polite as possible.

She glares at me, making a face. "Fine, then I'm with Jace and Alec — let's go Takis. Come on Simon!," she calls to her boyfriend, grabbing her leather jacket, and heading out of the door.

Simon runs after her, looking back at me with an apologetic upturn of his lips. Alec follows after them, then Magnus.

I sigh, and Jace pulls me to him, kissing my hair. Looking up to him, I smile, and he grins back at me.
I take  coat and his hand, and walk us out of the door to catch up with the others.

A/N. Lol, this is probably the worst thing I have ever written in my life and I am so, so, so sorry.
