My thoughts were racing as the car started to speed. The one guy I had trusted with my heart I saw kissing a blonde in his living room window. Her slim body and perfect figure. The way her hair fell in place with no effort. That was the last thing on my mind before the sound of a horn filled my ears and bright lights clouded my eyes. Then the world became silent and dark.
Beeping. Bright lights. Waking up to tubes in my arms isn't how I wanted the rest of my already terrible night to go. I let out a soft sigh and that's when the tears began to fall again.
"Baby!" My eyes opened slowly. Hesitantly. Only to see my guy best friend. His hair was a mess and his eyes were red and puffy. A new wave of tears came and then I was in his arms.
"Baby?" I didn't lean away from the hug but he tensed slightly.
"Sorry I didn't mean to." He started to lean away from me.
"No...wait." My voice sounded strained and it hurt to move my arms so I couldn't each out to stop him from leaning away. I winced and his face became full of worry again.
"You're hurt, baby. Please don't move-" he started to get up and being helpless I started to cry again.
"Don't go." I whimpered. He stopped and looked back at me. "I need you." I felt his arms around me again and he was running his hands through my hair in a soothing way. He kissed my forehead and wiped away any tears.
"I'll stay right here. Okay? I'm gonna be right here, baby." I nodded and leaned into his hand.
"Did you know?" I asked. My voice cracked halfway through the sentence.
"Know what baby?" His voice was soft and as he sat next to me I leaned against his shoulder and we wrapped his arms around my shoulders.
"He cheated." Two words. A simple sentence. Yet it dealt a devastating heartbreak. "A whole year....a few months....all a waste of time." I looked towards the wall and lost myself in my own words, his touch, everything.
"It's okay baby. I'm right here." He said soothingly.
"Can you stay for a while?" I asked there was a moment of silence before I added, "maybe forever?" I looked up at him and he gave me a soft smile.
"I'll stay until the world ends." He murmured into my hair. He twirled the end of my hair until I slumped into him and felt myself drift off into a deep sleep.

His POV
The damn bastard has cheated on her. As much as I wanted to bash his face to pieces but she wanted me here next to her. Holding her. The nurse had come in a little bit after she had dozed off and then walked out.Several other nurses and doctors came in and checked on her and when I asked if she was okay she said that she wouldn't be paralyzed but she would need a lot of bed rest and then some physical therapy to steady her walking again.
I watched her as her eyelids fluttered open and she looked at me with those beautiful brown eyes. Their honey color in the sun coming through the windows of her hospital room.
"You wanna know something, baby?" I turned to her and her brown hair fell in front of her eyes and I brushed it away softly grazing her face with my fingers.
"What is it, darling?" She asked her voice was slightly hushed.
"You look so beautiful in the morning." I said and she smiled with her eyes shining brightly.
"You look handsome this morning too darling." She commented. Her face turned a slight shade of pink once she said it but then I kissed the top of her nose and her face glowed in the incoming sunlight.
I didn't think she could get any happier than when she was discharged from the hospital but I guess not. She practically was, well attempted, to jump up and down from the excitement of finally being able to leave the hospital. She was given several warnings on being careful and taking things slow, but by the way she almost leaped out of her hospital bed she wasn't in the mood to take things slowly.
"Baby!" I caught her before she fully hit the ground while I felt completely worried she just giggled and gave me a peck on the lips.
"I'm okay!" Any sane person would've thought she was high on something, but I'm a person who's been diagnosed with love sickness. So all I can do is laugh along with her and ignore the stares of the nurses and the concerned looks.
