I woke up to a beautiful girl cuddled into my side and her hair draped across her face. Her soft snores filled my ears as I fully woke up. The snow outside has piled up on the window and everything looked like a frosty white. I looked at the girl curled into my side. I turned on my side careful not to lay on her arm and ran a hand over her face.

"Mmm." She hummed. Her eyes fluttered open as I brushed another strand of hair from her face and sher gave me a bright smile.

"Merry Christmas, baby." She let out a soft giggle and she wrapped her arms around my neck and pulled me down onto her chest.

"Just a few more minutes." She said softly.

"Okay." I ran my fingers up her sides and settled for just pulling the blanket back over me and letting her run her fingers through my hair. A small thud from downstairs made her jolt out of bed.

"What was that?" She sounded, concerned and a little scared. I rolled over and smirked she threw a pillow at my head with a disapproving look.

"Okay, okay." I held up my arms and stumbled out of bed and picked her up bridal style and carried her down to the living room. I saw that the little fluff ball had torn some presents hidden under the christmas tree.

"What's moving?" She sounded panicked.

"It's not a snake, it's a little smaller and a lot more troublesome." I groaned as she looked from me to the fluffy ball rolling around. I kissed her forehead and set her down. I watched as she slowly and cautiously approached the tree. The happy bark that came from the puppy was what made her eyes light up as she held the little pup up in the air.

"It's adorable! What's his name? Can I name him?" She looked to me laying on the couch just watching her dimpled smile and her bright eyes.

"Of course, baby. He is yours." I felt the wet tongue of the dog on my face it took me by surprise and I almost rolled off the couch.

"Actually, he's ours." She pecked my nose and went to opening the rest of her presents. The dog stayed curled up in her lap as I took pictures of her opening every package. Throwing the glittering wrapping paper to the side.

"Why didn't you get yourself anything?" She tilted her head and came to sit next to me on the couch.

"I gotta save up money for the little destroyer." I mumbled and felt the pup crawl into my lap and roll over with his paws in the air. "Presents were first, next it's gonna be this couch." I chuckled as I scratched his belly.

"Mmm, but we can keep him forever?" She looked up at me and rested her head on my shoulder. I kissed the top of her head and watched the snow fall outside the windows. I wrapped my arm around her and pulled her into me more.

"Yes baby, we can keep him forever."

"What's his name?" She ran her fingers through his fur and he leapt from my lap to hers and barked happily.

"Whatever you want it to be." I heard her list off names and I watched as the dog tilted his head and wagged his tail at every name.

"How about...." She placed her finger on her chin and looked like she was thinking as hard as possible. "I know! Buddy!" The dog barked, wagged its tail, and rolled around in her lap like it was living the best day of his life.

"Baby?" She turned to me and smiled.

"Yeah?"

"Does it have to be Buddy?" I raised an eyebrow, teasing her. She frowned and held up the dog to my face so he could like it again. I jolted off the couch and ran into the kitchen. I heard the scurrying of paws against the hardwood and the soft padding of feet. She turned the corner and wasn't facing me so being the gentleman I am I tapped her shoulder scaring the crap out of her.

"Don't do that!" She hit my arm playfully and I picked her up and the dog followed behind us as I took her upstairs. She looked over my shoulder to see Buddy struggling to get up the stairs. "But-"

"I've got him." I set her back down on out bed and went back for the fluffy thing. "You just have to shed don't you, everywhere." The pup barked happily and wagged its tail as I carried him in my arms and up to her. "You're lucky she loves you." The dog barked again and licked my hand. I rolled my eyes and shook my head.

"You got him!" She sat up on the bed and I realized she had turned on the TV and was watching a Christmas movie. I layed down next to her and felt her trace circles on my back. "Thank you, baby." I heard her mumble as the dog crawled onto my back and curled himself into a ball.

"You're welcome, love."
