Chapter 3

"Here. I made copies just like what you asked" Attorney Park said upon giving me the copies that I asked him

"There are 5 copies. I only asked for 3" I told him counting the paper

"Oh no, I'm sorry for not listening and making more copies. Is this an abuse of authority too? I'll be more careful" he said with no emotion at all

"What are you doing?" I asked him confused

"Oh right, you told me not to be emotional. I'm sorry for having grudge and being emotional" He answered then he dramatically looked at his watch "Before you hate me not going home in time, I'll leave. Then" He said bowing and leaving me dumbfounded

"Then?"

Another morning came by, I also got busier since I have a lot of case in my hand. When I looked at the secretary's office, Ms. Kwon and attorney Park weren't there so I just headed outside to get the photocopy myself and there I saw the other employees talking while having a tea, I just ignored them and proceeded to the Xerox machine

"I thought I told you to come with your parents" I told the high-school girl who came here alone while Attorney Park is serving coffee since my secretary is out as I ordered her to get something in the court

"They're busy working" she said unbothered

"Tell me your parent's phone number"

"They don't have phone" she quickly answered

"Then tell me their numbers at work. I'm sure they have phones there"

"Oh right, they quit work yesterday"

"I don't have anything else to say, can I go now?" She said grabbing her back pack preparing to leave

"If you act like that in court, you may receive additional punishment" I told her standing while she stopped walking
"You may also be sentenced into prison"

She looked at me "are you trying to scare me? I'm not scared of anything like that"

"You pretending to be tough just sounds like a cry for help"

"What do you-"

"The trial will open soon and people with the right to take away your freedom will gather. According to their decision, you may become an ex-convict. The only person who can help you in that trial will be me. If you want my help, you should trust me more" I told her and she just looked at me for a second

"Trust who? Forget it" she said walking away

I'm on my ear to the police station after receiving a call from Yoon Ha, my high-school girl client, when I saw Attorney Park infront of me. He must be on his way home

"What do you mean? The police station? Did something happened to Yoon ha?" He asked

"The mother of the victim of fraud, sued her and she's been arrested"

"I'll go with you, I can drive you there" He offered

"Okay, let's go"

We arrived at the police station and I was about to remove my seat belt when he asked "But why did she called her parents first? And call you instead?"

"Yoon Ha hasn't bee able to reach her parents for years"

"What? She can't reach them?"

"Her mom ran away when she was a kid, and she hasn't talked to her dad since the past 2 years"

"But Attorney Lee, it's true that she's a trainee at Yeon Entertainment and she really knows Ji Yong. I asked a friend about this" He said "I mean, she's not such a bad kid"
