House of Hades

34-Jason

The House of Hades looked surprisingly like an old farmhouse turned into a mansion. It Was obviously about 5 stories tall. It had a wooden deck with a creaky rocking chair and a table with a checkers set splayed out across the top. It was originally painted dark green with white and red accents, but the paint was almost totally chipped away now, and the walls had vines, moss, and other plants and organisms growing up its walls. One thing was for certain:It did not belong in Greece.

"Nico, are you sure this is the place?"

"What, that old farmhouse? No, i meant that dark cave over there."Nico pointed to a large cave.(srry no other way to describe it)

"It had to be a dark cave"Jason muttered. As soon as he walked through the caves entrance, he felt a huge blast hit him square in the chest, and watched as Leo, Frank, Piper, Alexa, and he were thrown against the cave wall. Axel and Coach Hedge stood outside the entrance. They couldn't get in.

"What-"Leo coughed "What was that?"

"Demigods with godly parents other than Hades and Pluto are about as powerful as mortals here. That was the power leaving you. Including your immunities"Nico explained.

"Okay...I'm going to act like I'm not freaked out at all right now."Leo replied.

"Oh yeah, that little power failure in yourselves might cause headaches, nausea, stomach cramps, wheezing, fainting, an extreme tired feeling, failure of limbs, cramps in limbs causing you to not be able to walk, and, in extreme cases, death or spontaneous combustion. Oh, and it might cause your flaws, especially your fatal flaws, to multiply their intensity. Plus, arguments and the feeling of uncertainty or skepticism will arise as well." Nico added before turning on his heel and continuing through the cave.

"I'm so dead."Leo muttered.

"So,"Jason stayed at the back of the group with Leo."Spontaneous combustion, huh?"

"You suck at conversation skills."Piper stayed behind with them.

"So,"Leo broke the silence they had fallen into, "failure in limbs, huh?"

They continued like this for a long time, until, finally they reached a wide river. On the river was a beat-up boat. A chicken was resting in a cage, next to a bag of chicken feed, while a wolf eyed it hungrily.

"Is it me, or have I heard of this before?" Jason asked. This reminded him of something, a riddle maybe. "Oh! Its that riddle where you have to get the chicken, the wolf, and the feed across. The chicken can never be with the wolf and the feed can never be with the chicken."

They quickly solved it. (do i really have to explain how?)

After more riddles Jason could barely walk, and Frank was doing everything but carrying Alexa. They decided to stop and take a break.

"Hazel, this is just a theory, but can you feel Tartarus?" Jason was insanely curious and had been dying to ask.

"On the ship I could since it barely. Like how you see something miles away on a foggy morning. Except even less than that."

"How about now. Because if we're closer, we might be able to Iris Message Percy and Annabeth."

Hazel closed her eyes, and opened them a millisecond later.

"We're right above Tartarus!"

"That's impossible! We've been moving for an hour!"

"Time works differently here." Nico replied

"Well, let's call them!" Jason took out a drachma.

"Okay we have water and a flashlight, right? Now how do we make water into steam..."

Jason got an idea. It might not work, but it was worth a try. He felt the floor, and yanked his hand back, just realizing how hot it was.

"Guys, I have an idea." Jason started whacking at the floor of the cave with his sword. Pretty soon, a small pool of red molten lava seeped out. Jason dropped half the bottle of water on the molten rock. Steam filled the cave and Jason took out his drachma.

"Oh, Iris, goddess of the rainbow, accept our offering. Show us Percy and Annabeth."
