Pirate in life
Good man at heart
Nearly broke me
When we had to part
To the sea
He chose to go
Sailing away from me
Away from home
Driven by greed
They used to say
To provide for family
He wanted one day
Make a name
For himself he did
In the big wide world
But there was no need
I waited every day
For my love to come back
Came to the port in the bay
Never saw him on any deck
He always wrote me
A letter a year
Though more than anything
I wanted him near
