Alice's POV: Orange Jumpsuits Aren't Fashionable

Thoughts of what Hermione had said were circling around my head, she was right, if the cops found out we were at The Swimming Hole last night, they would put us first on their suspect list. Suddenly I was snapped back to reality "Don't worry, you'll be safe here" Ivanna said to Marie, "We have police patrolling around the trailer park, they won't let anyone in or out unless they are residents, we advice you not to leave your trailer" Marie nodded, slightly relaxed. Detection Ivanna turned to us, "Is it possible if we could have some time alone to talk?" She said "Of course" FP exclaimed and we left the trailer, hoping Marie would keep her mouth shut about our whereabouts last night. We stepped outside the trailer and walked to the back of it, away from the hubbub of the reporters and the police, I checked to make sure no one was near and said "What if the police find out we were at the hole last night?" "They're not gonna think it's us" Fred assured me "We didn't even know Janet" I looked at him, not convinced "How many people know we were there, besides us and Marie?" FP, Hermione and Fred all fell silent "All of our parents!' Hermione whispered, "Ny mom doesn't know" I said, "So what are we gonna do?" Hermione questioned, FP bit his lip "Just keep our mouths shut, that's the best thing to do" I nodded "Does anyone wanna go back to Pop's? I didn't get to finish my burger?" Hermione asked, "I'll come" I said, FP and Fred said they wanted to head home so me and Hermione headed to Pop's.

"So what's going on?" I asked Hermione, whilst chomping on my burger. Hermione blanked me, slurping down her milkshake "What do you mean?" She asked, "With you and Fred? Things seemed tense?" Her cheeks flushed red "No! Everything's fine" She fell silent for a minute "Okay, so maybe he said the L word" I raised an eyebrow, my face lighting up "L word? As in he said he loved you?!" "Yeah" "Hermione that's huge! What did you say?" She looked down at her milkshake, looking guilty "I didn't say anything...I just smiled and kissed him, that's it" My smile faded "Oh...." "Mhm..The worst part is is that I do love him, I just...don't know how to say it" I took a bite of my burger "Do you and FP say it?" I paused "Yeah, I just came naturally, okay pretend I'm Fred" She raised an eyebrow and giggled "Okay?" I put my burger down and folded my arms, putting on a deep male voice "Yo Hermione, sup" She laughed, almost spitting out her drink "That does not sound like him at all" I smiled and took her hand, looking into her eyes "Hermione, I love you" we both sat there for a few seconds and burst out laughing, the people at the booth next to us staring. Hermione eventually looked at me and said "I love you too" I giggled, "Very good" We chatted for a while until I eventually said "Wanna head to my trailer? We could watch a movie?" Hermione nodded "Sure" We got up off our booth, picking up our bags and heading out the entrance. However, I wasn't looking where I was going and bumped into someone walking through the entrance "Oh sorry" I said, turning around. I immediately recognised him as Hal Cooper, he was a fellow student at Riverdale High who I often got partnered with in science "It's okay, don't worry about it" I laughed, he probably didn't even recognise me, after all he was a popular jock. "Alice right? I remember you from science" I nodded "Wow, you must have a good memory" He shrugged, "How could I forget a pretty face like that" He winked, oh shit, was he....flirting with me? I opened my mouth to speak but Hermione grabbed my arm "Hey we should get going, we have that...thing to do" I nodded and looked at Hal "Yeah we do and it's super important, bye!" I called as Hermione dragged me out of Pop's, she stopped and pulled a face "What was that?" I shrugged "I don't know, but thanks for saving my ass" "What are friends for?"
