Fred's POV: It Never Ends

I love you. Three simple words with a beautiful deep meaning. That's what I'd said to Hermione not 5 seconds ago, and I meant it. She looked at me blankly, clearly taken a back, but then she smiled and kissed me, nodding her head. That was a good sign right? She'd nodded her head? But she hadn't said 'I love you too' or at least 'Me too' or maybe she was just tired and didn't know what to say. That was probably it. "I'm gonna get some sleep" She whispered, turning over and settling down. I nodded and turned over, gently falling asleep after a short while.

The next morning
11:20am
Pop's Chock'lit Shoppe

"Four strawberry milkshakes and four burgers please" FP said, giving his order to a waiter at Pop's "Actually three" Alice said quickly "I found out a few days ago that I'm lactose intolerant, guess it explains the upset stomachs" She laughed, the waiter nodded and left the table. "So are you guys excited for the carnival?" I asked, it was August, which meant it was time for The Annual Riverdale Carnival at Pickens Park "Yeah, it should be fun" Hermione exclaimed "I just hope my mom will let me go, she barley agreed with me camping" She bit her lip "How are things with your mom anyway?" Alice asked "They're okay, she's still distraught obviously, but other than that I think she understands that I'm getting older, and that I'm gonna wanna do..." She looked at me and smirked "Things" I smiled back at her and turned to FP, who was sat opposite me "How are things with your dad?" I asked "Good, my mom's still around and I guess we are starting to actually be a happy family again" "That's great honey" Alice said, placing a hand on his arm. "Hey guys" came a voice from behind us. I turned around to see *Jaime Luna approaching our table. I clenched my teeth. Incase you haven't noticed, I didn't really like Jaime much, I guess you could say he's always just....there. Hermione's lit up "Hey Jaime! It's been so long" She said, sliding of her seat and starting to have a conversation with him. I sighed, what? Me, jealous? No. Definitely not. "So how have you been...really?" He said, "Okay I guess, but my father wouldn't want to be mourning him all the time, that's why I'm just gonna enjoy summer and try and forget about it" He nodded, taking a little box of chocolates out of his jacket pocket. "I bought you these...your favourite I believe?" God, he made my blood boil. She beamed "Yeah I love these" She said, taking them off him. I winced. "Hey Fred!" Came another voice, It was Mary. "Fancy seeing you guys here!" She said, she looked at Hermione and Jaime who were still chatting away and frowned. She made her way over to us and sat down in Hermione's spot "Can I sit here?" She asked, even though she already had "Sure" I answered, "So...what have you guys been up to?" She asked, "Nothing much really" Alice said "Yeah I mean it's only the first week of summer" Mary giggled, I tilted my head to view Hermione and Jaime. They were looking at something...but I couldn't tell what. "Oh my god guys look!" She said, her eyes growing big. I jumped up and pushed past Mary, making my way over to them. Alice, FP and Mary following us into we were all stood in a line, staring at the Pop's television, where the headline news was on.

"We are here at Fox Forest with Sheriff Jordan here who arrived at the scene last night when the sheriff station was called, what can you tell us about what happened here?"
"Well Sarah I think its safe to say that Riverdale hasn't been a town with pep recently after the events that went down at the beginning of this year and what we can tell you is that this is not the person who murdered the teens last time, we can assure you that she is locked up in a jail cell as we speak"
"We recieved a call late last night from a teen and rushed to the scene here in Fox Forest where we found the body of a teenager, we can identify the the body as Janet Aferton, a teen from Riverdale High, we can not yet tell you if it was a suicide or a murder, but as soon as we can, we will report back"

Janet Aferton, I knew her, she was once my lab partner. Hermione grabbed my hand as my heart was beating fast. Relax Fred, Penny was in jail. It was probably just a suicide, right? The TV switched a scene which I immediately recognised as Sunny Side Trailer Park where a girl was standing talking to a reporter. "Oh my god!" FP cried "That's Marie!"

"We are joined here by teen Marie Topaz who was at the scene when it happened, what happened here?"

She hesitated, shaking, almost looking like she was full of guilt.

"Well, Janet and I were friends, and...we were hanging out and then I left for a minute and when I came back she...was dead"
"Why were you in the forest so late?"
"That's all I'm gonna say on that but..."

She sighed, a tear trickling down her face and then continued.

"She didn't deserve this...but this...this was not a suicide, I know that for a fact, Janet was such a bubbly person I just know it wasn't a suicide...but...it isn't like what happened to Shana and Amber"
"This....this is something...much darker"

She turned, and slowly walked away, reporters running after her. "This is awful" Hermione gasped. "This town" said Pop Tate "Its almost like its cursed" He shook his head "It never ends does it, it never ends" He was right. It never ends.
